Haunted by the death of her sister and wounded by her ex-fiancé’s accusations, Kate Lange throws herself into her new career at a high-powered law firm. When the grandmother of a lonely private school student seeks her counsel, Kate thinks it’s just another custody case. But then the teen is brutally murdered. And it isn’t only Kate who wonders if her legal advice led to the girl’s death.

"A story to make you feel mad and bad!"
    Overall

The story was okay, but made me sad as I listened. The main character is this guilt ridden women who hasn't done anything worthy of all this guilt. Then the guy, who supposedly loves her, treats her rotten because of what she supposedly did. Her terrible sin was that, while she was driving, her sister died when she had an accident. This theme carried too much weight for me. Guilt permeated the story plus there was so much repetiton; the same facts given over and over. The story didn't make me happy or excited to hear more of it. It made me mad and disgusted at how guilty she felt all the time and how her boyfriend was so heartless. I just wanted it over.

What was most disappointing about Elizabeth Lowell’s story?

This story was totally predicitable and just plain dumb. The narrator had a terrible impression of a females voice. It was painful to listen to!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I like romance novels, but this one is just plain bad. I tried really hard to finish it, but just couldn't. I was listening to it on

What made the experience of listening to Completely Smitten the most enjoyable?

Susan Mallery's stories are always interesting, funny and have a good plot. I don't like real sappy stories or ones that have long sex scenes every other chapter. Susan's stories are touching and enjoyable!

Good story without the usual bad language. Interesting characters and easy to listen to & follow even when doing something else at the same time. The only negative was the narrator. Although she reads with many different voices, her natural voice was distracting for me.

This mesmerizing first novel tells the epic journey of Lin, an escaped convict who flees maximum security prison in Australia to disappear into the underworld of contemporary Bombay. Accompanied by his guide and faithful friend, Prabaker, Lin searches for love and meaning while running a clinic in one of the city's poorest slums and serving his apprenticeship in the dark arts of the Bombay mafia. The keys to unlock the mysteries that bind Lin are held by two people: his mentor Khader Khan, mafia godfather and criminal-philosopher; and the beautiful, elusive Karla, whose passions are driven by dangerous secrets.

"A lot of suffering to listen to."
    Overall

This story was good and funny, at least in the beginning. But as the story went on I good really tired of hearing about the torture and horrible things people were going through. It was anything but funny or happy. There was too much suffering and, in some cases, unbelievable to think someone could live through it.

Just what Genna Hastings needed: a a new neighbor with rippling muscles, mile-wide shoulders, and a wicked Jack Nicholson smile that could melt stone! It wasn't often that women resisted star quarterback J. J. Hennessy. With his summer sky eyes and kisses that stole her sanity and her willpower, J. J. was impossibly charismatic, magnificently male - and a bachelor father who was in danger of losing custody of his little girl, unless he could persuade Genna to help change his fast-lane image in time!

    "Really BAD!"
    Overall

I love listening to audible books and have listened to over 100. I rate most of the books I listen to 4 or 5 stars, but this book is poorly written and read. The story line is anti-american and just plain boaring. There are so many good books out there, don't waste your money on this one.
