The subject is heartbreaking, but the two main characters have one of the best love stories ever.
This was the first time I used WhisperSync between my Kindle and Audible. It worked fantastically. It was great to put my Kindle down, get in my car, and have the story pick up right where I left off.
The perfect conclusion!
The narrator is very good - great accents and excellent job of keeping track of the various characters' voices.
This book is continued in the sequel, All Clear. First book is very exciting and engaging, but definitely doesn't resolve.
If the narrator had NOT tried to do accents for the characters. They were horrible. I couldn't even listen to it.
Someone who can do accents.
Along the lines of Harry Potter, but for a slightly younger audience and a bit more light-hearted.
I'd previously read Tea House on Mulberry Street and really enjoyed it, so I was pleased to see audio offerings from Sharon Owens. I love the characters in these books and the way their lives intertwine.
The narrator was wonderful. She had a pleasing voice with an authentic Irish lilt.
I thoroughly enjoyed this audio presentation of The Tavern on Maple Street. I'm off to get another by this author now.
I think this was my favorite of the three books set in this town. Fannie Flagg has such a way of bringing characters to life and making you fall in love with them and the small towns they inhabit.
My only disappointment was that Fannie didn't read/narrate this one herself. I very much missed her slow, Southern drawl.
