When Darcy McCall loses her beloved Aunt Molly, she doesn't expect any sort of inheritance - let alone a small island. Located off the west coast of Ireland, Tara hasn't been lived on for years, but according to Molly's will Darcy must stay there for 12 months in order to fully inherit, and she needs to persuade a village full of people to settle there, too. Darcy has to leave behind her independent city life and swap stylish heels for muddy wellies.

What did you love best about Breakfast at Darcy's?

Breakfast at Darcy's was an enjoyable light novel. I purchased this after reading Ali McNamara's other novel from "Notting Hill to New York Actually" which I really enjoyed. The setting for this novel on a remote island off the coast of Ireland is different. I found the story interesting but felt there could have been more detail on the roles the people coming to live on the island were going to play. There were areas for instance, Darcy going to buy chocolate at the shop, what shop? In the planning for the island settlement there had been no mention of the shop. I would have preferred a bit more detail, however having said that I really enjoyed the book it was light and a bit different.
I loved the way the author bought the characters to life I felt you really got to know and like them.

What other book might you compare Breakfast at Darcy's to and why?

I couldn't compare it with other chic lit novels this was not your usual romance more of an light interesting story with a touch of romance.

Have you listened to any of Beth Chalmers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Beth Chalmer's performance was fine. I have not heard her other performances.

If you could rename Breakfast at Darcy's, what would you call it?

I am not sure this title was the right one. I feel it implies Darcy may have run a cafe or something. What else to call it? I do not know.

Front nan Leo Nash, from the world-famous rock band Nash, is the last person on Earth Samantha Williams would trust. She's already learned about loving a celebrity the hard way and isn't signing up for another lesson. Every time Sam gives Leo attitude, he wants to knock that chip off her fragile little shoulder. What the hell did he ever do to her, anyway? He's not used to women treating him like he's poisonous, and he isn't about to let her run away every time he gets close. He's had enough of people running away to last him a lifetime...when this one runs, he gives chase.

I loved the previous books in this series however the sex scenes are always so repetitive but this book is far worse Sam just kept repeating herself, as an example I want to lick your stars (tattoos) over and over again during the book. I have never known a family gathering (which is the basis of the series,) where the female characters talk about wanting orgasms ( "I want orgasms.) and talk to each other about "dick piercing" and so on. When I got to the bit where she was licking his scrotum I just had to fast forward. I enjoy sex scenes but with some variation not just repeating the same words over and over usually as soon as they arrived home her panties were wet as soon as he looked at her. Halfway thru this book I just fast forwarded all the sex scenes as they were so boring and had heard it all before. Would have loved more story or variation on the sex scenes this author is good a pity she just seemed to fill the book up repeating the same old thing. The other theme that seems strange as all the males are so jealous of the partner virtually after one meeting. I will try one more of her books probably in the hope her imagination has improved a bit.

Grace Stanton’s life as a rising media star and beloved lifestyle blogger takes a surprising turn when she catches her husband cheating and torpedoes his pricey sports car straight into the family swimming pool. Grace suddenly finds herself locked out of her palatial home, checking account, and even the blog she has worked so hard to develop in her signature style. Moving in with her widowed mother, who owns and lives above a rundown beach bar called The Sandbox, is less than ideal. So is attending court-mandated weekly "divorce recovery" therapy sessions with three other women and one man for whom betrayal seems to be the only commonality. When their “divorce coach” starts to act suspiciously, they decide to start having their own Wednesday "Ladies' Night" sessions at The Sandbox, and the unanticipated bonds that develop lead the members of the group to try and find closure in ways they never imagined. Can Grace figure out a new way home and discover how strong she needs to be to get there?

    Story

I enjoyed this book as I have all of Mary Kay Andrews but the choices the main character made were quite ridiculous. Why would you move out of your home and just let the husband ruin her whole life surely the law would have stepped in. Do not know how he could get away with what he did nor understand how any judge would be allowed to act the way he did.

When event planner Chloe Turner wakes up penniless and without a passport in the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris, she only has a few fleeting memories of Claude, the suave French man who convinced her to have that extra glass of wine...before taking all of her possessions and slipping out the door. As the overly organized go-to gal for her drama-queen younger sisters, her anxiety-ridden father, and her needy clients, Chloe is normally prepared for every disaster that comes her way.

I enjoyed the other books set in Paris from Juliette Sobanet but this book is absolutely pathetic I tried so many times to read it but finally gave up. Nobody
could be as stupid as the female in this book. Even the narrator who I normally enjoy sounded ridiculous through much of the story. An absolute waste of a credit.

Who buys a house on the spot and can move in same day no matter how much money he had.
The sex scenes could have been cut by half or at least varied a bit so repetitive in the terrible breathy voice the narrator had. The book was very repetitive you could skip chapters and pick up where you left off. I skimmed thru this book.
