Investigator Wayne Weston is found dead of an apparent suicide in his home in an upscale Cleveland suburb, and his wife and six-year-old daughter are missing. Weston’s father insists that private investigators Lincoln Perry and Joe Pritchard take the case to exonerate his son and find his granddaughter and daughter-in-law. As they begin to work, they discover there is much more to the situation than has been described in the prevalent media reports.

Would you try another book from Michael Koryta and/or Scott Brick?

The narrator sounded tired and old. It was somewhat depressing. The story was good however but I felt the "twist" at the end came out of nowhere and left me thinking "what did I miss"

What didn’t you like about Scott Brick’s performance?

Boring voice, sounded tired and old.

The Isle of Lewis is the most desolate and harshly beautiful place in Scotland. When a bloody murder on the island bears the hallmarks of a similar slaying in Edinburgh, police detective Fin Macleod is dispatched north to investigate. Since Fin himself was raised on the island, the investigation represents not only a journey home but a voyage into his past. Each year twelve island men sail out to a remote and treacherous rock called An Sgeir on a perilous quest to slaughter nesting seabirds.

    Story

A very entertaining story told back and forth over the years and a really surprising ending. Being Scottish myself, the book transported me back in time and brought back many memories of the rugged west coast of Scotland and of words I had not heard in a great many years. A terrific story and beautifully narrated.

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

    Story

Somehow, I didn't expect such a great story. Its my first experience with Gillian Flynn but I was totally immersed in this intricate and absorbing story and blown away with the conclusion; I didn't see it coming which, for me, is unusual. It was a somewhat harrowing tale and I truly suffered for the characters but it is so true to real life with no pat finish to make the reader feel good. I imagine the author must have suffered somewhat in writing this story. I'll look for future books from this author.

    Story
Would you listen to Last to Die again? Why?

Yes I would. It was quite an involved story line and quite honestly, I sort of lost the thread in the middle.

What did you like best about this story?

Interesting story and didn't have an expected ending.

What about Tanya Eby’s performance did you like?

Tanya was very good. I really enjoyed her narration.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Will keep you guessing till the end.

    Any additional comments?

I will definitely read this author again.
