It is honest and real, but written lovingly. It is not judgmental or hateful toward those who might have an opposing position.
It is very informative and detailed. He talks about the history of the movement, lots of information (for those who apparently knew nothing, such as myself!), and biblical basics for supporting the LGBT community. I thought I was supportive, but you need to KNOW about the issues in order to really be supportive. Now I feel like I can better support family members who are struggling to tell others about their preferences, and begin to advocate for them in the community. Before I read this book, I did not really even know the major issues with allowing civil unions versus marriage. Now I know, and I am telling everyone to read this book!
There was so much information here. I started it because I wanted to know
Read it! It's wonderful!!
I would listen to parts of it. The book is a collection of short stories, and it seems that the best ones are toward the end.
I wouldn't know what to say. I read the book because I saw the author on Jon Stewart and it was portrayed as a funny book. However, as I read it, I felt like it was a less-funny Seinfeld; a book without a purpose. Parts were funny, and other parts were sad. Was the point to entertain, make a point, or show that the world stinks? I'm still unsure.
His interview with the Insane Clown Posse... wow. Just... wow. Yet again, it was a mix of funny and chilling reality.
Whatever its purpose, the book was very well written.
No. If you're looking for a steamy book, you'll get your fix in the first few chapters. If you're looking for a story line beyond that, forget it!
The main character is a weak, helpless female. She lets Christian dominate her in the bedroom- fine! That's a personal preference. However, she also lets him run her life, boss her around, and keep secrets from her. How annoying!! There is serious possibility for an interesting story, but instead you get sex scene after sex scene after sex scene.
The reader did a great job with all characters. It could have been very awkward to read this book and act it out- but it wasn't!
The follow ups are no better.
Don't waste a credit.
