This was a pretty good short story. I listened to this mainly to get a feel for the series, like whether I wanted to start listening.... or not. I really think I could have enjoyed this more if the super bad guy wasn't so easy to beat. I mean really, you sing bad songs and he goes sploosh! I liked the characters, but the story left me really undecided.

Felix Castor has reluctantly returned to exorcism after the case of the Bonnington Archive ghost convinced him that he really can do some good with his abilities ("good," of course, being a relative term when dealing with the undead). But his friend, Rafi, is still possessed; the succubus Ajulutsikael (Juliet to her friends) still technically has a contract on him; and he's still dirt poor.

What about Michael Kramer’s performance did you like?

Michael Kramer does a fantastic job. He is soooo gooood with subtle nuances and inflection. His voice carries emotion and feeling without drastic changes in tone.

    Any additional comments?

The 2nd installment rolls right along where the first left off. Good story, great characters, and a phenomenal narrator. I'm really curious where this series leads, the next book should be a pivotal point in the story, creating stages for an uber supernatural showdown of sorts.

I really like the main character in this series. He's funny....very funny, clever, vulnerable, likes the action, has woman problems (like every man... sooner or later), and he's funny. The story is not bad, not great, but seems a little MHI esque. I think if I were reading instead of listening this would not have been nearly as good. The delivery by Roger Wayne is incredible, especially with the humor. Overall a pretty solid listen, I did laugh at quite a few different points in the story and will listen to the next.

In a devil’s deal, Jeremiah Hunt sacrificed his human sight in exchange for the power to see the hidden world of ghosts and all of the darker spirits that prowl the streets. Hunt uncovered a world of murder and magic that took his daughter from him and nearly cost him his life, but that was only the beginning.... Now Hunt is on the run from the FBI, who have pegged him as a mass-murdering dark sorcerer. His flight from the law is diverted to New Orleans when his companion has a horrific vision.

What about Anthony Bowden’s performance did you like?

Anthony does a perfect job with Jeremiah's character. He's pretty strong with other characters, but has the lead nailed to perfection.

    Any additional comments?

I gave the story a 4, but that's being generous. I like how the author jumped around some with the characters, but the main story lines crossed without ever being really affected by one another. It was Jeremiah on a quest because his lady witch friend said so, meet some spooky characters, deal with death on another plane, and oh by the way, the FBI is trying to get you. All of this and it was all kinda.....casual. I really enjoy the story and all the characters, especially listening to Anthony as Jeremiah. The author writes good characters and that really keeps me listening and wanting more, actually thought there could have been more to the story's other-world side.

This was much shorter than several other BSI books. It is another very good story focused more on Cantan and Jeanie, mixed with a windigo problem in Chi-town. Another great performance by DA coupled with a cool story, just wish there could have been a little more to it, was kinda short. Eagerly waiting for the next installment.

Where does Fool's Errand rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is my 1st Hobb book, and it is very different than most of the audiobooks I listen to. At first I kept waiting for the adventure to start, but was very intrigued by the characters and the way in which Langton told the story. About mid way through the book, which is around 25 hours BTW, I could not put it down. Although this is clearly fantasy, Hobbs reminds me more of a Steinbeck type writer. The story and characters are so compelling you can't put it down. If you're looking for tons of action and snarky characters, this book is not for you.

The worst was supposed to be over. We were reunited after a decade apart. We were discovering the truth about our past. We were training and getting stronger every day. We were even happy. We never imagined the Mogadorians could turn one of our own against us. We were fools for trusting Five. And now Eight is lost forever. I would do anything to bring him back, but that's impossible. Instead, I will do whatever it takes to destroy every last one of them.

This was another good installment for the series. As a stand alone book, it's not the best by any stretch of the imagination. The narrators do a fantastic job and IMHO make the series better by a mile. The story is coming along nicely, although, I think it's the weak point as the series goes on. Characters are fine, growing up and all, but the story line itself is not exactly mind blowing.

What did you like best about The Atlantis Gene? What did you like least?

The story is not wholly unoriginal and on the surface sounds interesting, but alas, the story jumps around and takes the long road in story telling.

What was most disappointing about A. G. Riddle’s story?

I think Riddle wrote this with the idea he was gonna get a movie deal.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Stephen Bel Davies?

He did fine, hard to judge since I didn't like the book all that much.

Could you see The Atlantis Gene being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I think that's the authors intention all along.

    Any additional comments?

This is not a wholly bad book, but it doesn't have characters with depth or anyone to care enough about. Pretty generic book.

They see him as a reckless rogue - little more than a "cowboy" corrupted by a monster - and a potential threat to their ancient order. As knights and their sentient weapons begin dying, Matt teams up with other hunters of his kind such as LUIZA, a woman with a conquistador blade; ALLAN, an Englishman with an Egyptian khopesh; MALCOLM, a voodoo priest with a sanctified machete; and TAKAIRA, a naginata-swinging Samurai.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, very entertaining and good narration.

What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really enjoyed his take on the main character, his female voices are....ok

Could you see Damoren being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes. This story fits in with a lot of the new shows on the Networks and Syfy

    Any additional comments?

This is a very well narrated book with a good (not great) story. There is a lot to build on with the mythos and characters. The action was good and fast paced with small doses of humor.
