The girl everybody loves to hate has returned to the town she'd sworn to leave behind forever. As the rich, spoiled princess of Parrish, Mississippi, Sugar Beth Carey had broken hearts, ruined friendships, and destroyed reputations. But 15 years have passed, now she's come home, broke, desperate, and too proud to show it.

Lydia says: "Another winner from Susan Elizabeth Phillips"
    "Entertaining, but?"

I enjoyed this book except for the voices The narrator, bless her little heart, made Colin a little too smarmy and gay sounding. Most southern men don't sound like lowbrows and most southern women don't sound like harpies. I just never could get past his voice and why she would fall for someone like that. If I had read the book I probably would have enjoyed it more without the distracton of the "off" voices.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Jan says: "What a great surprise!"
    "True to the South"

I loved this book and all of the characters in it. I know each one of them! Any southerner of a certain age will recognize someone in it.

New York Times best-selling author Diane Mott Davidson has taken readers by storm with clever mysteries filled with tantalizing plots and mouthwatering recipes. In her 12th novel, her tastiest tale yet, the ingenious storyteller whips up a rich soufflé of murder and mischief.

Laurene says: "Narrator ruined this one..."
    "Such a tasty book"

I love Goldy and hated the jerk. Loved this book and the recipes! I've got to go brine some pork chops now.
