When best-selling author Carrie McClelland visits the stark and beautiful Slains Casle, she decides to use the castle as the setting for her new novel, and one of her own ancestors, Sophia, as her heroine. Then Carrie realises her writing is taking on a life of its own and the lines between fact and fiction become increasingly blurred. As Sophias' memories draw Carrie more deeply into the intrigue of 1708, she discovers a captivating love story lost in time.

Would you listen to Sophia's Secret again? Why?

My only complaint about the story was the narrator. Her voice is so soft that it was very difficult at times to hear her. Other than that, I thought the book was excellent.

What three words best describe Carolyn Bonnyman’s performance?

she talks to softly. She was a wonderful voice, but too soft for the recording.

On the run from an abusive husband, she seeks shelter on a windswept Irish island and dismisses the villagers' speculation that she is descended from a selkie - a magical creature who is bewitching the island. But when a ghostly woman appears to her with a warning, Tara realizes it was more than chance that brought her to this island.

Would you try another book from Sophie Moss and/or Hollis McCarthy?

NO. This book was so similar to Nora Roberts trilogy style books, only nora's are better written. So I wouldn't waste my time reading any more of this author's books.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    Predictable.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator was talking as if in a dream like stance all the time. It was not well narrated at all.

After losing his leg to a land mine in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike is barely scraping by as a private investigator. Then John Bristow walks through his door with an amazing story: his sister, the legendary supermodel Lula Landry, famously fell to her death a few months earlier. The police ruled it a suicide, but John refuses to believe that. The case plunges Strike into the world of multimillionaire beauties, rock-star boyfriends, and desperate designers, and it introduces him to every variety of pleasure, enticement, seduction, and delusion known to man.

Would you listen to The Cuckoo's Calling again? Why?

I would not listen to it again, but it was very good.

Have you listened to any of Robert Glenister’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have never heard him before, he was very good. It is nice to have a man read womens parts without going into a fake falscetto voice.
