This is in my opinion the best book by Sophie Kinsella. It is not as known by the general public as the shopaholic series but you really should not miss this book if you like her work. I could not stop myself from laughing out loud at all the information that the female character in no way should have shared with others - all the little secrets that really does not matter in the long run but are immensely embarrassing if known by the wrong people.
It is an easy-read (or in this case an easy-listen) and entertaining throughout.
Narrator is not bad.
Yes absolutely, I already have with great succes. I would recommend this book to everybody who reads romance stories and at the same time likes their books to be extremely well researched, wellwritten and recount actual historical events. Brilliant author!
I cant pinpoint a moment, its the entire story that captivates. It was a little weird that it starts in post world war 2 Inverness, Scottland, but actually involves timetravelling. It is one of those things where you think that it must be a bad idea for the plot of an historical romance but ends up thinking its not at all imposible. The main female character Claire thinks like a modern sociaty woman, and therefore its kind of like being in medieval Scottland yourself, seing life at that time trough modern eyes, which actually makes the story better.
Cant tell you - I read it first, so maybe it makes it a little easier to start a book, when the hardcopy is so heavy that you get tired from holding it when you read? Its a lot easier to plug in your iphone!
No laughing or crying - but it made me research Scottish history and made me so intriged that I went on a holliday to the highlands and actually went to see some of the places that plays a large role in the story. (which I would say was an extreme reaction)
This is the first novel in a series of books not yet finished. And you would think that the story becomes borring after 2 or 3 books, which I find is generally the case, but not here - I am still waiting impatiently on the release of the next book in the series.
When I first started to listen to this story I was a little skeptical about the storyline and characters because I was not all to sure that I would be able to like one of the main character who had been an abuser - I mean normally they are the bad guys in the stories? But surprisingly this is actually a very sweet story and I enjoyed listening. It is a little different than most M/M romances by having a more serious storyline but it still makes my top 10. Narrator is fine.
If you are in to M/M romance book this is a series you absolutely can not miss! This is by far my favorite in the genre. The charaters comes to life in a way that you actually miss them when finished with the series. The storyline about two very different and at the same time similar FBI agents who becomes involved during their professional partnership are of course the main storyline throughout the entire series, but every book has its own well thought out plot with different cases they have to solve.
The writting is excellent and humorous. The narrator is also by far the best I have had the pleasure of listening to.
I have listened to all five available book and after that I had to know what happend in the latest two book, which have not been made available on audible as of yet but should not be missed even if you have to read the book the oldfasion way (or in this case as an e-book)
No not really - but it is not a bad performance. The voice of the storyteller was a little bit different in my head - younger sounding and lighter.
The main character, who also tells the story - Jory. He is weird, flawed and absolutely perfect at the same time. His personality is actualy the main reason why this is an amazing story. You cant help loving him and the way his mind work. It makes you listen to the story with a smile on your face.
Cant really tell you - nothing?
Best book by Mary Calmes by far - but you might want to wait until you can listen to all of the books in the "Matter of time" series - because this book is only the begining of the story.
This is a sweet story and Amy Lane isnt bad. I liked the characters she created, flawed and at the same time kind and compassionate. The narrator really need to stop screeching in that annoying tone when speaking for some of the characters!
This is a very NOT realistic story - its a fairy-tale with a plot sort of like the movie the Blue Lagune. Except of course that the characters in this book are adult (or for the male main character - teenager). It is not very well written and not really that good, just not really bad either. Narator is fine.
This is the second book in the virgin river series that I have read - a little backwards as this is the first novel in the series. Robyn Carr tells a good story and the narrator is good. If you like romance novels that are well written and (mostly) realistic, you will like this one.
This is a must read if you like romance novels. Diana Gabaldon makes the story come to life. Humor, love, history (as in you can look it up in a history book and the major events are real), friendship, enemies, war, fate and fantasy - all in one. I have read more books than I could ever count in every genre possible and this makes my top 10. And you should think that you would become borred since it is VERY long - but I am looking forward to the next book in 2013.
I did not enjoy this book as much as fifty shades, but I do understand why everybody is comparing the two. The storylinie in this one is a little borring and sometimes I forgot to listen. Of course it is a matter of taste, but I did not like the main female character overly much. The performance of the narrator is actualy pretty good and she makes the book better. Just like fifty shades, there is a lot of sex scenes in the book, and I think that if you count the minutes you spend listening to this part of the story, it would probably be more than half. Not sure if I will read or listen to the second book in this series.
