This is in my opinion the best book by Sophie Kinsella. It is not as known by the general public as the shopaholic series but you really should not miss this book if you like her work. I could not stop myself from laughing out loud at all the information that the female character in no way should have shared with others - all the little secrets that really does not matter in the long run but are immensely embarrassing if known by the wrong people.
It is an easy-read (or in this case an easy-listen) and entertaining throughout.
Narrator is not bad.
This is a brilliant story - and one of the longest i have ever read/listened to. I usually gives up by book three when the books are about 600 pages long because the author runs out of material and the story stops making sense or just becomes boring. But D.G. Is brilliant, an I even try to save the story and only listening a little at the time (if i can) so that the story can continue for as long as possible - because there is a long time until the next book is released. If you like historical romances this series is a must read!
I love this series - the story makes me both laugh and my heart hurt and make me wish i knew these people. Total "happy ever after" story of the best kind. This book is kind of an extra long epilog where you follow their life after the"happy ever after". And loved listening to it. Dont start with this one - it is one long story and it would not make sense if you havent read the others
I like t.j.s way of writting, there is a lot of humor, emotion and the charaters is very much alive and you miss them when you finishes the books - and this book is no exeption
I really dont know if i listened to his other, but he is good.
Confidence and trust
Not her best but it is hard to live up to the bear, otter and the kid series and this book is also very good.
The fact that it made me laugh so much that i cried so many times that i cant count it. The dinner scene where he spills all to the entire family is one of the funniest i have ever read.
Bear - his inder monolog is absolutely amazing - and the fact that he have absolutely no filter.
He is really good in general - and makes the story come to life with the exact amount of emotion in the sentences that would not have been the same in my head
Bear - just to se what insane things happens
LOVE this series. Absolutely in my top three.
Not a bad story but not very different from all the other stories where cool football star meets shy gay guy, falls in love and have to come out - and the shy gay guy gets a confidence boost. So - predictable - but then again thats not always bad. Worth your credit if you like thoose stories and needs a dose.
Yes - it is well written with a lot of humor and love and all the charaters are alive. The relationship between Bear and his brother is both humorous and heartbreaking.
I think maybe when bear tries to make a romantic dinner at the beach and uses Tys (the kid's) poem - toe-curling embarasing, funny and lovable at the same time.
He makes the people real - couldnt think of anyone doing a better job
Love, strength and earthquakes?
Absolutely worth a credit.
I liked the relationship between the MC and his former wife and her new husband - funny and at the same time heartwarming
Hmm dont know
This is a narrator you enjoy listening to - good voice and performance as always
The MC - kind of dry sense of humor and a big heart
A light enjoyable listen all in all.
Sue brown, yes. Narrator NO
Yes the story wasnt bad
He made me wish i read the book instead - the way he sounds continuously surprised and ending all sentenses with questionmarks makes an otherwise good story almost unbearable to listen to.
None i think
maybe the author, but not til narrator
the narrator, didnt finish the book, since i could not listen.
dont know - since i did not finish it
I loved T.J. Klunes other book so when this became availiable on audio, I wanted to listen to it - but the title surprised me a little, since it did not sound like a lovestory. And it isnt - but it is.
It is mostly a story about love for a lost father and the depression, sorrow and confusion that comepletly takes over the mind and body of a very young man. It is also about regaining faith in life and in God and the coporal angles aside, it is enough to make you wonder about your own faith.
Surprisingly it is also a suspense novel.
All in all, the lovestory between the MC and his angel is the background tread.
It is very well written, as T.Js other books. Written as it is in first person narrative, you follow the MCs mental jumps through time and place, and it can be a little difficult to remember were you started.
The narration of this book must be one of the most difficult I have encountered and the narrator is amazing! I think it would have been an impossible listen if he hadnt been this good.
At first I was a little irritated of the way it sometimes sound like he is narrating from the bottom of a bottle, but accualty begun to appriciate it as this made me able to follow the storyline better, since it is only done when the MC shifts mental pathways and it helps you to know when the flashback is over.
The story kind of stays with you in the way stories does when it moves you or makes you think.
All in all, it is worth a credit - but you should not expect a light listen!
