On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Suzanne says: "The scare is in the human nature under stress."
"The reader makes or breaks the book..."

...this is broken. I'm sorry I'm from Maine. When the reader put on a lockjaw upper crust accent for a down east accent I freaked. Steven King is my favorite author and has the most beautiful Maine accent. Did he listen to this guy? Oh well I'll have to read the book. Good for SK he'll get 2 royalties from me.

If you ran into Stephen Tobolowsky on the street, you would not be mistaken: Yes, you’ve seen him before. A childhood dentist? A former geometry teacher? Your local florist? Tobolowsky is a character actor, one of the most prolific screen and stage presences of our time, having appeared in productions that range from Deadwood to Glee, from Mississippi Burning to Groundhog Day. But Stephen Tobolowsky, it turns out, is not just an actor; he is also a dazzlingly talented storyteller and writer.

If you could sum up The Dangerous Animals Club in three words, what would they be?

    An Artists life.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Dangerous Animals Club?

The stories of his life are woven in such a way in and out of time. The life lessons and universal themes were enlightening.

Which character – as performed by Stephen Tobolowsky – was your favorite?

He is the storyteller of his own life as an actor. As good an actor as he is he is a greater storyteller.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Pooch.

When the NSA's invincible code-breaking machine encounters a mysterious code it cannot break, the agency calls its head cryptographer, Susan Fletcher, a brilliant, beautiful mathematician. What she uncovers sends shock waves through the corridors of power. The NSA is being held hostage, not by guns or bombs, but by a code so complex that if released it would cripple U.S. intelligence.

I wanted to strangle the characters. This can't the same guy that wrote the DaVinci Code. If you like to hate characters and find fault in detail...read this book. I'd give this no stars but I can't reset.
