A woman has vanished while digging a dinosaur bone bed in the remote wilderness of Canada. Somehow, the only evidence has made its way to the inbox of Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta, over 2,000 miles away, in Boston. She has no idea why. But as events unfold with alarming speed, Scarpetta begins to suspect that the paleontologist's disappearance is connected to a series of crimes - much closer to home: a gruesome murder, inexplicable tortures, and trace evidence from the last living creatures of the dinosaur age.

What disappointed you about The Bone Bed?

The narration on this book is absolutely horrible. I’ll never get to know if the book is good because every time I try to listen, and the narrator tries to create a male voice, I’m turned off by the most irritating sounds I have ever heard. Next time the publisher needs to spend the money to hire both a male and female reader when the parts call for 2. There is nothing professional about this recording, it is pure amateur.

Would you ever listen to anything by Patricia Cornwell again?

    Yes

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kate Reading?

Kate was OK in female voice rolls but needed a male to do the male voices.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Don't know - could not finish

    Any additional comments?

To the publisher - spend the money to do a professional job
