Henry Cimoli and Spenser have been friends for years, yet the old boxing trainer has never asked the private eye for a favor. Until now. A heavy-handed developer is trying to buy up Henry's condo on Revere Beach and sends thugs to move the process along. Soon Spenser and his apprentice, Zebulon Sixkill, find a trail leading to a mysterious and beautiful woman, a megalomaniacal Las Vegas kingpin, and plans to turn a chunk of land north of Boston into a sprawling casino. Bitter rivals emerge, alliances turn, and the uglier pieces of the Boston political machine look to put an end to Spenser's investigation.

If you could sum up Robert B. Parker's Wonderland in three words, what would they be?

    great, fantastic and enjoyable.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

From the beginning to end I could not stop listening to the story. Ace Atskins did a great job with spenser by bringing his humor and tough character alive. The tradition continue without Robert B. Parker.

Have you listened to any of Joe Mantegna’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Joe does an exelent job with Spenser. He makes spenser live with his voice and does a great job bringing all the other character alive.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Everytime I read a Spenser novel I laugh. I listen to the story 3 times and do not get tire hearing it. Not only I laugh but Spenser makes me think.

    Any additional comments?

This is a must read. If you love the spenser TV show you must read all his spenser novels.

    V. I. Warshawski’s closest friend in Chicago is the Viennese-born doctor Lotty Herschel, who lost most of her family in the Holocaust. Lotty escaped to London in 1939 on the Kindertransport with a childhood playmate, Kitty Saginor Binder. When Kitty’s daughter finds her life is in danger, she calls Lotty, who in turn summons V. I. to help. The daughter’s troubles turn out to be just the tip of an iceberg of lies, secrets, and silence, whose origins go back to the mad competition among America, Germany, Japan, and England to develop the first atomic bomb.

In the Pacific, as USS Walker is repaired and updated after a previous battle and Reddy is healing from his wounds, planning begins for a bold raid on the very heart of the Grik Empire. But time is running out for the Alliance army in India, and the Allied forces in the west must gather in an unprecedented land, air, and sea campaign to destroy the mighty Grik battle fleet and break through to their relief. All other plans go on hold when the attempt proves more difficult - and more heartbreakingly costly - than anyone imagined.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Must read. Storm Surge is a an adventure you will not be able to put down. Taylor Anderson writes a great story about war and the consequences of doing so even when not to do so is not an option. Get all of the books and you will be hook just like me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Storm Surge?

I found all of the story to be memorable.

What about William Dufris’s performance did you like?

He put his heart into the reading and made you feel that you were there during the war. He made the characters alive and make me care for all of them. Can not wait for him to record the next book next year.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    War for life and freedom.

    Any additional comments?

When I listen to the first book by Taylor Anderson, I was hook, I can not wait for next year for book 9. W Dufris did a great job of hooking me to the saga just by putting his heart in the story.

LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. Story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I had urged friends and co-workers to get this book. I consider my self strong and not easily impress by sad stories but this one made me cry. From the beginning of the story when the main character partner was kill and ask him not to leave him I cry and when the dog's partner was kill I kept crying. My emotions went from crying to laughter to crying to feeling good about the ending. If you do not like to feel strong emotions stay away from this story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Dog. The author did a great job of showing that animals feel and care for others.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I did not had a favor scene because from beginning to end I could not put this book down. I listen to it from beginning to end during the weekend without going to sleep.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Throughout the story I was moved.

    Any additional comments?

If you want to feel good about why we need love in our lives, you need to listen to the book. I urged anyone who loves dogs to read this book.

It is astonishing that Simón Bolívar, the great Liberator of South America, is not better known in the United States. He freed six countries from Spanish rule, traveled more than 75,000 miles on horseback to do so, and became the greatest figure in Latin American history. His life is epic, heroic, straight out of Hollywood: he fought battle after battle in punishing terrain, forged uncertain coalitions of competing forces and races, lost his beautiful wife soon after they married and died relatively young, uncertain whether his achievements would endure.

Where does Bolivar rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best writing and audio book I heard so far.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bolivar. The author show him as a real person with his falts and issues. Even so he was able to free a several nations.

What three words best describe David Crommett’s voice?

    Clear, engaging.

    Any additional comments?

This is a great book to listen. The author did a great job of showing Bolivar as a person with many issues and broght him to as a human who made mistake and not as people see him as a perfect man.
