The stories behind the owner, trainer and jockey. With the horse, of course, being the glue (no pun intended) holding it all together.
Secretariat for obvious reasons although this book focuses even a little more on the people behind the scenes than the former book.
A heightened sense of excitement
I couldn't wait to see how certain races played out
As good as this book was, I do feel that Unbroken was a better story.
One of the top listening experiences I've enjoyed
Almost any other book in the Discworld series although this does some great character expanding with top-notch humor
The auditors - all of them
It is written that there is no time to see Thief of Time like the present.
I'm not sure if the audio really enhanced the experience, but the smooth writing style and great stories made this a pleasure from start to finish.
JFK: An Unfinished Life by Robert Dallek. That's another great Presidential biography covering roughly the same time period.
Being true to Caro's intent in his writing.
No. It's too long for that.
Definitely worth listening to again. Great narration by Planer with wide variety of voices.
A little Roald Dahlish. Imaginative and fascinating.
No other performances, but he did a great job.
Out of this world or any other world
Although this book made me feel dumber, it was a nice experience learning more about the amazing Albert Einstein and how he basically created a new field of quantum physics. I would have liked more of the personal side of Einstein and less scientific explanation (how many times can the author use the words 'in other words' in one book?), but I guess there's no way to get around that when writing about Einstein.
way too technical
His voice is a joy to hear.
