This book had high expectations to meet because of how much I liked A Dirty Job. At first I was VERY disappointed that Fisher Stevens wasn't the narrator but it soon became clear that the book was in good hands. It's a fun story and it goes fast. Not quite as good as his last book, but still wonderful.
I love the history but this is a book where locations and generations. Move around so fast your head will spin.
I had listened to a lot of the History of England podcast and this was an interesting and logical next step.
I don't read books, so I'm not one to ask.
Thinking of it in terms of the relationship of Castle and Becket on the TV show. Then a lot of the bravado of the character seems more endearing.
It was ok. It felt very dated.
I'm not in a rush. He didn't do much with the character of John Carter in this book.
I didn't particularly like his voice.
I loved the movie and the movie novelization was good. But the style of these books is very out of date and it makes the characters feel a bit wooden.
I don't think. It's not really deep in plot, just good stories.
Yes. I'd say it's 90% as good as his first one.
I liked when he said how all the characters are doing today.
I think you'll like his show better if you've heard the books because they make him seem more sympathetic and less cranky/egotistical. He's always witty and insightful.
If you like fantasy books a lot.
Any light-fantasy with a romantic undertone.
not that I remember.
I'll buy the next book if there is one. I hope it's a bit longer though.
I think the humor and the fact that it never got boring. Just a really fun book.
Chronicals of Oberon and his pet Druid.
extremely similar in tone to the Dresden books, but not as melancholy.
This book wasn't a struggle to finish and had an interesting premise. It was not a book that I thought about for a week afterwards, but I enjoyed it while it lasted.
I finished listening to this in 4 days. Fisher Stevens is hands down, the BEST narrator I've heard. I was never confused as to who the characters were and they had a lot of life to them. The story will have you in stitches but it has a satisfying arc that carries over till the great ending. Buy this audiobook.
