Would you listen to Love the Sinner again? Why?

No - really could not get behind Gabe being such a wishy washy, double standards, over reacting a**.

Would you recommend Love the Sinner to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend the series, but not the first book.

Have you listened to any of Renard Pasquale’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Renard Pasquale's performance for this and all the rest of the series is outstanding!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Angel's first confrontation with his Uncle

    Any additional comments?

Stick with it the books get better

After 40 years in San Quentin, Luke Palmer leaves with a state-issued suit, $100 dollars to buy a bus ticket, and a map that will lead to a promise and into the heart of a dark forest. College graduate student Molly Monroe is about to release rare butterflies not far from where the FBI used 4,000 bullets in a shootout to kill Ma Barker and one of her gangster sons in 1935. Molly snaps a picture that will frame something she never sees coming.

This was a good book but since you know who did it and pretty much why only a couple of hours into the book, I cannot call it a mystery; so on that end I was disappointed. there is some of a thriller aspect in the story: who will live/who will die? How will they get the bad guy? It was more of a police procedural, except the hero is often at odds with the local sheriff.
Another reader said that this was better than Jack Reacher. I'd be more inclined to say that this book was a lighter, softer version of Jack Reacher.
It was a good book but nothing that I was expecting from the blurb or the classification.

Everything about Jeremy has always been a lie - including his last name. When one grift too many ends in tragedy, Jeremy goes straight. But life's hard for an ex-con, and Jeremy is down to panhandling and hope when Rance Crawford offers him work at a tiny alpaca farm and fiber mill. Jeremy takes him up on the job, thinking this could be his last chance to be a good man, and meets Aiden, who is growing into a better one.

Book 2 tells us a little more of the Granby bunch. Jeremy's a grift-er that did time and wants to be honest, but really doesn't know how. Rance, Ariadne, and Aiden teach him how to live and love as a honest man, and how to put down roots.

Not a light and fluffy as the first, but not a angsty as Amy can get. Again the story stops short, but there is 2 more books that rounds out this storyline very well.

When homicide detective Dexter J. Daley’s testimony helps send his partner away for murder, the consequences - and the media frenzy - aren’t far behind. He soon finds himself sans boyfriend, sans friends, and, after an unpleasant encounter in a parking garage after the trial, he’s lucky he doesn’t find himself sans teeth. Dex fears he’ll get transferred from the Human Police Force’s Sixth Precinct, or worse, get dismissed.

    Story

Dex is a fun loving cop with a moral streak a mile wide, he cannot turn his back on the truth no matter what. Too bad the other human cops don't like it (or him); to keep him alive he's "promoted" to the THIRDS, the shifter branch of the police.

A view of current life, that would have been if "germ warfare" in the 70's created shifters.
Charlie did a good job of creating a world where shifters are an acknowledged part of society, without resorting to standard supernatural reasons. And the "Us vs. Them" mentality of some of her characters is real enough to be scary.

A great first book of a new series.

On a personal note: when I read this book - I felt that Dex's character was much more of a fun loving Prankster. And while Mark Westfield did a good job of narration, I read a lot of his taunts/replies as more snarky (he knows he's taunting and having fun with it), and Mark made them more matter-of-fact/conversational.

Still grieving over the sudden death of his lover, antiques dealer Flynn Ambrose moves to the old, ramshackle house on Pitch Pine Lane to catalog and sell the large inventory of arcane and oddball items that once filled his late uncle's mysterious museum. But not all the items are that easy to catalog. Or get rid of... Since Alan died, Flynn isn't eating, isn't sleeping, and isn't spending a lot of time looking in mirrors. But maybe he should pay a little more attention - because something in that 18th Century mirror is looking at him.

This is a ghost story, but not about a ghost hunter.
Flynn's pain and heartache call to a ghost caught in a mirror, can they figure out who she is and how to help her move on? and more importantly: Can Flynn learn to love again......?We'll have to wait and see.

Since Hank Calder's four-year-old niece Josie came to live with him, his life has been plenty dramatic, thank you, and the last thing he needs is a swishy, flaming twinkie to complicate things. But when Justin, the daycare worker at his gym, offers to do something incredibly nice for Hank - and for Josie - Hank is forced to reconsider. Justin may be flamboyant in his speech and gestures, but his heart and kindness are as rock steady and dependable as anyone, even Hank, could ask for.

Hank doesn't want any drama queens, and Justin is all about the drama, so of course they are attracted to each other. Unfortunately for us no real drama occurs.
Amy does 2 types of stories, angst filled, heart wrenching dramas; and light fluffy pieces.
I prefer the 1st type, but when you need a lighter touch - this is a good fit.

I really love Jordan L Hawk, and am saddened to write a less than stellar review of any of her books, but I can't call this one great.
Maybe it's the narrators interpretation, but Caleb comes across as a whiny ass. I like Grey and John, but really Caleb is irritating, and the series revolves around him (and Grey inside him). I will be continuing with the series, since I find JLH's twist on a future with paranormal as a given part of society, a great story line.

Deputy US Marshal Miro Jones has a reputation for being calm and collected under fire. These traits serve him well with his hotshot partner, Ian Doyle, the kind of guy who can start a fight in an empty room. In the past three years of their life-and-death job, they've gone from strangers to professional coworkers to devoted teammates and best friends. Miro’s cultivated blind faith in the man who has his back… faith and something more.

    Another great Mary Calmes story.

When sweet, charming tenderfoot Ben McCutcheon moves onto Crawford's rural road, Rance is very aware that Ben makes it a grand total of two gay men in their tiny town, and even though he is instantly, painfully smitten, any move he makes could be simply chalked up to being hard up.

Would you listen to Midnight Riot again? Why?

Hells yeah, I would listen to Midnight Riot again, and again.

Ben Aaronovitch has created a rich, and colorful world of magical London. I just hope that the historical asides that are presented in this book (i.e. St. Paul's Church called the actors church) are fact. I love learning new things about such an amazing city.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot was well written, kept you guessing all along, and would they catch/stop the killer? Knowing that this was the first in a series I had a few moments of panic thinking that they would not finish up the story line in just one book. And while the world and the people in it continue in the next book, this story line concludes well.

Which character – as performed by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith – was your favorite?

Any of the West End females, Kobna has the snarky attitude down pat.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It is a book that you can put aside, and get some sleep, but it's one that you will want to listen to straight through if you can. (Unlike the Dresden files, where you sometime practically beg for the book to come to an end so the intensity will abate, this series has pauses that allow you to relax and breath again)

    Any additional comments?

I will be adding Ben Aaronovitch to my must have authors list.
