After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape...or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

Unexpectedly called in to the Charlotte PD's Cold Case Unit, Dr. Temperance Brennan wonders why she's been asked to meet with a homicide cop who's a long way from his own jurisdiction. The shocking answer: Two child murders, separated by thousands of miles, have one thing in common - the killer.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Get a better narrator, was way too dramatic, sounded totally hysterical most of the time. Was like every emotion was totally exaggerated, making the heroes sound totally unreal, the voices were awful. The plot was unrealistic in the extreme.

What was most disappointing about Kathy Reichs’s story?

The plot was meandering and ridiculous, I was hoping for so much more. Maybe I will try an earlier novel with a different narrator.

Was Bones Never Lie worth the listening time?

No, not for me. I listened to it all, hoping it would get better, like a bad B movie, but it never did. The last 5 minutes, I couldn't stand it and removed it from my Kindle.

Six years have passed since Jake Fisher watched Natalie, the love of his life, marry another man. Six years of hiding a broken heart by throwing himself into his career as a college professor. Six years of keeping his promise to leave Natalie alone, and six years of tortured dreams of her life with her new husband, Todd. But six years haven’t come close to extinguishing his feelings, and when Jake comes across Todd’s obituary, he can’t keep himself away from the funeral. There he gets the glimpse of Todd’s wife he’s hoping for...but she is not Natalie....

"So disappointed. Dragged on and on, boring!"

What would have made Six Years better?

A different narrator, and perhaps a better story line, something a bit more believable.

What didn’t you like about Scott Brick’s performance?

It was so overly dramatic, made the story line totally ridiculous, could not wait until the book ended. Nobody would ever believe this story line, and he did not help. It was like an old B movie, you just keep going thinking it will get better. It did not.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    It finally ended.......

    Any additional comments?

I normally love Harlan Coben books, this was a total disappointment. The story line was boring and unbelievable. I cannot believe it was written by the same author.
