Jon Willing was just a teenager when he and his buddies Augie and Ben stole a fortune in drug money. Brazen with youth and stoned out of their gourds, they thought they had the perfect plan for getting away with it. They were wrong. Twenty-five years later, Jon’s marriage is in ruins, his kids are virtual strangers, and the recession has decimated his finances. When he finds Augie murdered in Vegas, Jon knows his past has risen from the grave to grab him by the throat. Now Jon Willing faces a choice: run to a paradise of wine and women and endless sunshine or confront the demons from his past and fight for what’s left of his imperfect suburban life.

Would you listen to The Accounting again? Why?

No-Only because I never listen to a book twice.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the stories flow and the crisp writing with snap back dialogue.

    Any additional comments?

I have read two reviews that said the reader did not finish listening or did not care how this one ended. Frankly I wonder what kind of a fiction book could please those reviewers. This is a solidly written story and it was performed well. I will look forward to more from this author.

Master novelist Daniel Silva has thrilled listeners with 16 thoughtful and gripping spy novels featuring a diverse cast of compelling characters and ingenious plots that have taken them around the globe and back - from the United States to Europe, Russia to the Middle East. His brilliant creation, Gabriel Allon - art restorer, assassin, spy - has joined the pantheon of great fictional secret agents, including George Smiley, Jack Ryan, Jason Bourne, and Simon Templar.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Others reviewing this one have generally rated this book high. I was through 5-6 chapters and I just gave up. This is the worst book the author has produced.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I wish Audible would eliminate whoever constantly gives a book 1 star and never writes a review. It happens too often. Clearly this book is well worth the listen. It had all of the things SCI-FI needs to be good. Granted the prison planet part was a little long but it did weave all of the needed characters into the story

Would you be willing to try another book from Vaughn Heppner? Why or why not?

I would like to see the story continue. I liked the epilog tied up the lose ends.

What aspect of David Stifel’s performance would you have changed?

    I thought it was adequate.

If you could sum up The Escape in three words, what would they be?

    very good effort

What about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance did you like?

They work well together and by having them both as narrators the flow of the book is enhanced

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Because of a personal life situation the scene with the two men and their Dad was emotional for me; so much so that tears flowed.

    Any additional comments?

I would hope to have the opportunity to share another adventure with the books main character.

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?"

What did you love best about The Martian?

The original story line of Mark Watney, an astronaut being stranded on Mars after his crew left him for dead. When he wakes up from the incident, Mark has to figure out how he can survive.

    Which scene was your favorite?

So many scenes were done just so well but I like when he had an accident where the rover and trailer overturns and Mark overcomes a possible deadly situation.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Lost on Mars

What made the experience of listening to Dead Money the most enjoyable?

The possibility of poker action showing the game is of skill and not chance.

What did you like best about this story?

The relationship between Annie and our hero.

Have you listened to any of Rish Outfield’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I have not had the pleasure.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I felt like I knew the ending long before it arrived. Even though that is how it turned out the book was enjoyable. The story keeps the listener interested and that is how it should be for a book to be a success.

    Any additional comments?

I wrote the book Adjuster Stories which is on Audible. It is disappointing when you see how many of your books have sold and how few people take the time to submit a review. I am pleased to recommend the book and you should give it a listen.

    Really captivating story

What was one of the most memorable moments of Pride Runs Deep?

When all looked lost a mine saves the day

What about Tim Campbell’s performance did you like?

Can not accurately describe how good of a job he did bringing this one to life.

    Any additional comments?

This was the first fictional book out of my last ten that I just had to stay with and listened to it over a day and a half. The characters were inter woven well. Other than the expected Tre bravery at a key moment, the author kept me wondering what would happen next. I liked the style of making each character become the lead player at a moment in time. Overall a audible purchase of this book will not make anyone thing they made a bad choice.

the entire series is just darn good. Every time I finish one the next book is eagerly awaited.

Have you listened to any of James Marsters’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Marster's makes the stories go. The one book he missed was a real setback so hopefully he is able to do whatever follows.

    Any additional comments?

Butcher has a way of introducing aspects in his characters that you might not see as likely as the story is in motion. Without giving too much away we seemed to have added a new knight who has come up through the ranks and grown more in each book.
