Eliot Rosewater, a drunk volunteer fireman and president of the fabulously rich Rosewater Foundation, is about to attempt a noble experiment with human nature, with a little help from writer Kilgore Trout. The result is Kurt Vonnegut's funniest satire, an etched-in-acid portrayal of the greed, hypocrisy, and follies of the flesh we are all heir to.

    Story
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. It was a short book and I had a long drive to listen to it. It was actually hard for me to get through and at no point did it really captivate my attention. I found myself constantly drifting into thought out of boredom.

What was most disappointing about Kurt Vonnegut’s story?

It wasn't that interesting/funny to me. I think Vonnegut is a great writer but this book was a disappointment to me.

What does Eric Michael Summerer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator is great and brings life into each character.

Could you see God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    No.

    Any additional comments?

I'm not a literary fanatic- just an average Jane, so perhaps that's why this wasn't my cup of tea. I like books that are a little easier to listen to I suppose. I'm impressed with Vonnegut's writing and will probably still read some of his other books but the story behind this one was just not at all interesting to me.
