It wasn't a complete wast of time, but I don't think I'd listen to it again if I could go back. I understand that Eon was in a hard spot, but honestly I can only listen to so much winnying before I'm just annoyed.
The courtly wit and banter that could have add some much the book fell flat. The book is missing something, I really don't I'll bother with the sequal.
I didn't have a problem with her in the beginning but she started to wear on me the longer I listened. Maybe is was how it was written but the narrator didn't help Eon sounds like a winy little girl most of the time, at times the narrator even gave her a differant voice. But the worst part is listening to the narrator's mouth noises, and you could hear the creck of a chair.
sure if you liked the first one.
I seen the movie first and thought it was awsome so I picked up the audio thinking it would be even better but no it's not. Just about everything is different and not in a good way.
I love Gerard Doyle he's one of my favorites, he did a wonderful job with the dragons and set the right tone for the style it was writen in.
Toothless is really annoying!!
The ending wasn't enough, and I would have like there to have been more focus on the relationship bewteen John and his wife.
If I was feeling like listening in on a world where evil is always beaten and the hero always overcomes whatever in the way. Than yeah I'd listen ERB
The narrator was mid-level I've heard worse, his accent did get a little old, and he failed to but a lot varations in the script
about all of the fight scenes felt recycled.
