Fifteen-year-old Christopher Boone has Asperger's Syndrome, a condition similar to autism. He doesn't like to be touched or meet new people, he cannot make small talk, and he hates the colors brown and yellow. He is a math whiz with a very logical brain who loves solving puzzles that have definite answers.

What made the experience of listening to The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time the most enjoyable?

It was the amazing way the author helped me to understand how difficult life can be with for a teenager with aspergers.

What does Jeff Woodman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The reading of the story was wonderful. Woodman used just enough emotion to keep the listener engaged, but he also was pretty true to how a person with asperger syndrome actually sounds. It made me relate so much ore to the character than I would if I was reading it in "my own voice". Amazing performance by Woodman!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No question about it... It was the 2nd train station.

    Any additional comments?

Just a great book. I only bought it because it was on sale for something like $3, so I figured I'd buy it "just in case" I needed something to listen to. It turned out to be one of the best books I've found on Audible!

Would you ever listen to anything by J. R. R. Tolkien again?

Nope. Bored me until I finally gave up on it about 15 hours in.

What about Rob Inglis’s performance did you like?

    He was good.

Was The Fellowship of the Ring worth the listening time?

No... did I mention that it was boring?

    Any additional comments?

I have heard about this series of books about as long as I can remember. I was excited to give it a listen, but the excitement turned in excruciating boredom. I kept telling myself that I just had to get into it, but that just never happened.

In the frigid pre-dawn hours, in a distressed Midwestern city, hundreds of desperate unemployed folks are lined up for a spot at a job fair. Without warning, a lone driver plows through the crowd in a stolen Mercedes, running over the innocent, backing up, and charging again. Eight people are killed; fifteen are wounded. The killer escapes. Mr. Mercedes is a war between good and evil, from the master of suspense whose insight into the mind of this obsessed, insane killer is chilling and unforgettable.

Have you listened to any of Will Patton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I heard Will Patton Dr. Sleep. The 2 performances are completely different. He was the perfect choice for both books. Mercedes Killer required more voices to help set tones for each scene and Patton did an awesome job.

    Any additional comments?

Stephen King is on a roll. I think Doctor Sleep and Mercedes Killer are 2 of his best books. People who think Stephen King is "all washed up" or just doesn't care anymore need to read these 2 books.

If you could sum up Adventures of Huckleberry Finn: A Signature Performance by Elijah Wood in three words, what would they be?

It's an American classic read by Elijah Wood. He was simply amazing. The voices, the accents, the pace... everything was great. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn doesn't need Elijah Wood to be an incredible book, but Elijah brought it to a whole new level. Simply awesome!

Would you be willing to try another book from Mark Roeder? Why or why not?

I have listened to all of his Audible books. I will continue to listen to them. He writes about subjects that I like to read about. His writing brings me back to younger days when I was struggling with coming out. It's interesting to see how all of the characters in his books (all that I've read/listened to) are either pure good or pure evil.... Not much middle ground, which you would think is a negative, but he puts a lot of faith in friends taking up for each other which is kind of a nice change.

    Any additional comments?

Some of the subject matter in this book is difficult to listen to, but if you can put it behind you, it's an enjoyable book.

Skye Mackenzie has dealt with the supernatural most of his life, but he's never before encountered the likes of the adventure that is about to descend upon him. An oddly attired, unconscious boy appears in Graymoor Mansion at the same time a horrific storm begins. When the boy awakens, Marshall, Skye, and the others discover that their visitor is from another world - a world where elves walk, dragons fly, and fairies are real.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. This was a really fun book to read. The story was really cute and heart warming. The author's ability to make me feel for the characters was something I don't often experience in this type of book. Great job!

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the concept of party boy having to understand how a geek thinks. Great idea!

What didn’t you like about Paul Morey’s performance?

Sadly, nothing. The voices he used were pretty bad. This surprised me because I thought he was rather good reading in "All the Colors of Love". When he sticks to his real voice, he is great. Unfortunately, in this book, he tried to come up with a different voice for each character and it did not go well.... Donovan sounded like a flaming gay Daffy Duck, Ash was OK, Fee sounded like a super hero (probably because it was the same voice he used for Tomari in All the Colors of Love), Carly sounded like a fancy boy from the Louisiana bayou (I just pictured a guy in a Seersucker suit drinking a mint julep fanning himself in the heat)... It just wasn't pretty, but don't let that stop you! The book itself is GREAT

It sucks being the son of a super villain. At home, Harry spends half of his time getting medical treatments and the other half tied up in his father's underwater lair. It was different when his mother was alive, but she disappeared when Harry was six. He can't seem to stay out of trouble at school, and his new roommate, Antonin, thinks he’s a spaz, but somehow Harry has to find a way to stop his father's evil plans.

Where does All the Colors of Love rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favorite Audible books. I bought this title expecting to be disappointed. I wasn't, it was excellent.

    Any additional comments?

I was a little worried about buying a gay story between 2 boys written by a female (I know, I know, that's sexist, but let's face it... Men and women don't think alike) Not only was it about 2 gay boys, it was also kind of a "super hero" story, so I wasn't expecting much. I am so glad I bought this book. The writing was great, the story was fun and there were even a few surprises. It was one of those books that made me want to keep going back for more.

I normally love Stephen King, but this book was just plain BAD! It was boring. Very boring. There was never a time when the book pulled me in. You spent the entire book waiting for something to happen... It finally would, but it was too little too late in most cases. Too many words with too little to say. If this was my first Stephen King book, I seriously doubt I would have ever read another one.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Why did the narrator insist on acting out all of the yelling lines? It seems someone should have realized that most of us are listing to this with ear buds. The constant yelling made it very difficult to listen to. I would have turned down the volume, but if I did, I wouldn't hear his whispering parts. Very frustrating!

What didn’t you like about Steven Weber’s performance?

The yelling.... No doubt about it. His volume went from too soft too loud in seconds. Very uncomfortable to listen to.

Could you see It being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

After listening to this book and the cheesy "hollywood lines", I imagine a TV series or a movie was the main direction of this book.

    Any additional comments?

Not Stephen King's best, but like all of his books, when it's good, it's real good... Unfortunately, too many down pats of this one to make it great.
