    • By Zig Ziglar

How to Stay Motivated provides you with clear and proven techniques to use to enhance relationships, improve your self-image, set and achieve goals, and so much more! Setting and achieving your life goals are among the most important activities in which you can apply yourself, as your goals will set the course of your most important decisions.

Dave Nelson says: "Zig Ziglar is Positive and Inspiring"
    "Always a homerun"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Zig Ziglar is from a previous generation but everything he talks about it still relevant.

What was one of the most memorable moments of How to Stay Motivated?

The analogies and stories. They are always a connection point for me.

Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and they are all excellent.

    Any additional comments?

Ziglar books are ok, but the audio is where Zig shines. His delivery, his sense of humor, his politeness, and his respect for people really comes across.

  • The Art of Storytelling: From Parents to Professionals

    • ORIGINAL (12 hrs and 29 mins)
    • By The Great Courses
    • Narrated By Professor Hannah B. Harvey

An absolute treat for the heart and mind, these 24 lectures demonstrate how to master the art of storytelling, offering insight into the process of crafting and delivering a tale to enhancing the stories you tell everyday-to your children at bedtime, in your conversational anecdotes, and in your presentations at work. Teachers, lawyers, clergy, coaches, parents, and anyone who wants to understand the power of stories to capture hearts and minds will benefit from these lessons.

Jacobus says: "Superb, insightful but limited by audio only"
    "Could not finish it..."
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Nothing...I take the blame for choosing a topic not suited to me.

What could The Great Courses have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I just don't think it was a good match.

What didn’t you like about Professor Hannah B. Harvey’s performance?

It comes across too cute...too contrived.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

  • The Creative Thinker's Toolkit

    • ORIGINAL (12 hrs and 20 mins)
    • By The Great Courses, Gerard Puccio
    • Narrated By Professor Gerard Puccio

According to the latest scientific research, anyone can be creative. You just have to know how to think creatively, which involves taking a more imaginative approach to the challenges we all face. Learn how to wield the same research-based tools that today's creative people use and tap into your inner creative thinker with Professor Puccio's engaging 24-lecture series that takes you step-by-step through the creative-thinking process.

    Daniel Wright says: "Amazing Read."
"Interesting, definitely learned a few things"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Creative Thinker's Toolkit to be better than the print version?

Did Professor Gerard Puccio do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

This question does not really apply. However I would point out that the narrative was a little tough to listen to for long periods. It's 24 lectures and the narrative starts sounding like William Shatner is delivering it. The pauses and drawn out words were tough to take.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Any additional comments?

Overall good lectures. Very comprehensive. I think the delivery was the downside for me.

"Wish I would have heard this 25 years ago"
What did you love best about Lifelong Health: Achieving Optimum Well-Being at Any Age?

Health, Diet, and Exercise advice is out there in abundance. Knowing what is believable or not is always tough. Dr. Goodman's lecture was clear, to the point, and makes perfect sense.

What did you like best about this story?

    Very comprehensive and practical.

What about Dr. Anthony A. Goodman’s performance did you like?

Easy to listen to, it's a long lecture, but never got old.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

"Eat mostly plants, and not too much" is a great quote he used in the lecture.

    Any additional comments?

If you step back from this subject in general, it's all about common sense and moderation. Eat wholesome, exercise more, get plenty of rest. But the how's and why's are clearly presented with common sense approach to achieving all of this. Everything from prostate exam options to menopause and children's health or allergies. Loved it!

  • The Secret to Success

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 29 mins)
    • By Eric Thomas
    • Narrated By Charles Arrington, Eric Thomas

Eric Thomas is rising to national prominence by delivering a high energy message that tells youth through first hand experience how to live up to their full potential and greatness and by breaking the cycles of crime, hopelessness and despair that many face daily. Known for his engagingly personal approach, his messages are both dynamic & inspiring. When coupled with his own cycle-breaking experience, his blunt essays on reality and remarkable ability to reach even the most jaded of minds.

    Shamar says: "Excellent Book!!!"
"Good story for the right demographic"
Would you try another book from Eric Thomas and/or Charles Arrington and Eric Thomas ?

No, just not my area of interest

What could Eric Thomas have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

nothing, the book was fine, just not my area

    Any additional comments?

This is a fine book/story for the right audience. But it really applies more to people who are trying to raise themselves up and get their core life together. Unfortunately I did not get this from the reviews and synopsis before purchasing. Great story, just not really what I was looking for in a audio book.
