  • Panic!: The Story of Modern Financial Insanity

    • ABRIDGED (7 hrs and 5 mins)

A masterful account of today's money culture, showing how the underpricing of risk leads to catastrophe. With his trademark humor and brilliant anecdotes, Michael Lewis paints the mood and market factors leading up to each event, weaves contemporary accounts to show what people thought was happening at the time, and then, with the luxury of hindsight, analyzes what actually happened and what we should have learned from experience.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I didn't pay attention to some of the other reviews and was disappointed that this was just a collection of articles from various sources. I've enjoyed many of Lewis's other books, but this one wasn't what I expected.

Have you listened to any of Blair Hardman and Jesse Boggs ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. No complains about the performance.

All is not well in Margrave, Georgia. The sleepy, forgotten town hasn't seen a crime in decades, but within the span of three days it witnesses events that leave everyone stunned. An unidentified man is found beaten and shot to death on a lonely country road.

What did you like best about Killing Floor? What did you like least?

Interesting story, though a little drawn out in some instances.

Which character – as performed by Dick Hill – was your favorite?

    Detective Finley

    Any additional comments?

I've specifically sought out titles narrated by Dick Hill, he does a tremendous job. The production is great as well, there is appropriate audio variations for phone conversations versus CB radio communications.
