Miss Jane Fairfield can't do anything right. When she's in company, she always says the wrong thing - and rather too much of it. No matter how costly they are, her gowns fall on the unfortunate side of fashion. Even her immense dowry can't save her from being an object of derision. And that's precisely what she wants. She'll do anything, even risk humiliation, if it means she can stay unmarried and keep her sister safe. Mr. Oliver Marshall has to do everything right. He's the bastard son of a duke, raised in humble circumstances...

What did you like best about The Heiress Effect? What did you like least?

This is my first book by Milan. It is evident she is a excellent writer that is why I gave three starts, however, for the intelligence that her characters had and should have had their acts did not meet agree with characters.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I felt like I was reading Forest Gump.... everything was glossed over with too much sugar.

Which character – as performed by Rosalyn Landor – was your favorite?

    all

Do you think The Heiress Effect needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    no

Jessica, she was a strong female character that understood men and their pride and knew when to push and when to pull back. She had a brain as well as an humor.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Wow there were so many... but I guess when she shot him! FOR REAL! I could not believe it!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene when Dane asked her to marry him... and she did not in pride say no but understood his turmoil within and too the chance

    Any additional comments?

Bravo! Well Done!I knew I had a winner from the first chapter if not the prolog. Wonderful writing, well thought out and reasonable story, romance with relationship connection with two strong main charters as well as interesting supporting charters. Well Done!I was happy and sad at the same time… happy to find this 5 start and sad that I must now resume the search once more.

no because it could not fulfill its promise

    Which scene was your favorite?

the last scene.... oh how I wish the whole book could have been just as romantic

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    no not as it is

Please believe the negative reviews on this one. I wish I did... I really wanted to like this author she came highly recommended but now being shot in the foot twice ( I read One Good Duke deserve a lover also.... ) I will not go back The writer has some skills but not enough to pull her stories together... she over writes the female characters in one hand and disables them in the other... I wonder do she like men... because in both book they fell extremely short... I love to see an empowered woman but she must be paired with an even stronger man. Skipped through this towards the end and eventually skipped to the end.

I just finished one of her other book More than and Mistress and was fairly pleased so I purchased this one... and got whiplash When I started skipping through then skipping whole chapters I knew I was in trouble... there was no draw between the main characters I think she got caught up with the story and forgot it was a romance novel. I want my money back on this one... NO I did not finish the book.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

absolutely, it was well written well narrated and a good story. Just the right amount of tension and romance....

    Any additional comments?

Tracy Anne Warren is now one of my favorite romance writers. I only read historical romances however not for history and she does not bog the reader down with too much of it, she is an excellent writer, her passages and character interactions are perfect. The characters do not repeat their thoughts again and again. She makes her description leaves you with the impression and moves on. In effort to make a strong female character she does not do like a lot of writers and in turn make the male seem weak, and to top it off she writes a good believable story. For all the hype some other romance writers get that writing and story lines are not half as good she is a unsung hero.
