    "This book touched my heart!"
    Overall

I have to say I was skeptical about reading this book. The subject sounded depressing... and ultimately it was, but it made you think and for that reason I loved book.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

I really loved this book. I had it on my wishlist for quite awhile before buying it and I am so glad I did. The two narrators in this book are wonderful... and in my opinion made the book even better. Love, Love, Loooooved it!

America is a barren landscape of smoldering ashes, devoid of life except for those people still struggling to scratch out some type of existence. Amidst this destruction, a father and his young son walk, always toward the coast, but with no real understanding that circumstances will improve once they arrive. Still, they persevere, and their relationship comes to represent goodness in a world of utter devastation.

From start to finish this book was wonderful. The Narrator did an amazing job and at times kept me sitting in my car to see what happened next. I highly recommend it!!

Two hundred years after the Raintree clan defeated and abandoned them on a small Caribbean Island, the Ansara wizards are rising again to take on their bitterest foes. Despite their extraordinary powers and supernatural origin, the Raintree have largely blended into the modern world. They are bankers, cops, husbands, wives, and lovers in the society of humankind. But now, from Nevada to North Carolina, the rejoined battle will measure the endurance of their people.

Virginia A. Mickelson says: "A 'no ending' story"
"The female narrator ruined this book!"
    Overall

I can't say that this was a great book. The story was hard to follow because of the narrator. Her voice grated on my nerves to the point that I would have to stop listening after a short time. I will however read the other two books in this series and hope that the other narrators do the books justice.
