  • Strangers

    • UNABRIDGED (29 hrs and 25 mins)
    • By Dean Koontz
    • Narrated By Dick Hill
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

A handful of people. From different backgrounds, living in different towns and cities across America, they had nothing in common - except fear. Deep in the heart of a sprawling desert, a dark memory called out to them, drawing them to the Tranquility Motel - where the terrifying truth was waiting.

    Barry F. Stinson says: "Brilliant"

I liked the story, not much at the end for a big build up, what I did not like is the voice of Dick Hill specially if he tries the voice of a women or heaven forbid a small child. It is the voice that
took most of the pleasure out of this book, maybe
D.Hill should read old western or cops or anything
with old man in them no children or women!!!!!!!!!

  • The Marbury Lens

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Andrew Smith
    • Narrated By Mark Boyett
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Sixteen-year-old Jack gets drunk and finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time: he is kidnapped, but escapes, narrowly. The only person he tells is his best friend, Conner. When they arrive in London as planned for their summer break, a stranger hands Jack a pair of glasses. Through the lenses, he sees another world called Marbury. There is war in Marbury, which is a desolate and murderous place where Jack is responsible for the survival of two younger boys.

Gini says: "Like an addiction, I just couldn't stop listening."
"Like an addiction, I just couldn't stop listening."

This book was creepy yet I couldn't put it down. I felt a lot like Jack in that I couldn't keep away from the book. It was not my kind of book and yet I am glad to have listened to it and hope there is another to follow...

  • Buddhism

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 59 mins)
    • By Dr. Winston King
    • Narrated By Ben Kingsley

Buddhism began with Gotama the Buddha in the sixth century BCE and has developed two chief forms: Theravada (or Hinayana) is found especially in Sri Lanka, Burma, and Thailand; Mahayana is found in Japan, China, Korea, and Indochina. Zen, a more recent form of Buddhism, is found throughout the world. Some believe Buddhism is not properly understood as a religion, though this presentation describes its religious qualities.

Master Yoda says: "well written and well spoken"
    "Understanding Buddhism"

This book was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to know the history of Buddhism and this book said it beautifully. I have shared this story with my mom who listens to it regularly while she works with her plants. If ever I wish to be at peace with my day, listening to this story changes my outlook and brings my mind at ease. I have also listened to "The Middle Way (Unabridged): The Story of Buddhism" which I also love.

  • Inkspell

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 53 mins)
    • By Cornelia Funke
    • Narrated By Brendan Fraser

Although a year has passed, not a day goes by without Meggie thinking of Inkheart, the book whose characters became real. But for Dustfinger, the fire-eater brought into being from words, the need to return to the tale has become desperate. When he finds a crooked storyteller with the ability to read him back, Dustfinger leaves behind his young apprentice Farid and plunges into the medieval world of his past.

    Vanessa says: "Inkspell indeed"
    "Yes, no, yes?"

I loved the first book and couldn't wait to hear the second until they changed the narrator. Although I like Brendan Fraser as an actor some of his character voices were hard to listen to especially after hearing the first book. I find myself repeating the lines differently in my head almost to soften the dislike of the way in which he said them. It almost seems like he didn't read the book before he narrated it. I still love the story and would love it more if he left out the characters accents.

  • The Spiderwick Chronicles, Volume I: Books 1 & 2

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 8 mins)
    • By Tony DiTerlizzi, Holly Black
    • Narrated By Mark Hamill

Less than half a year ago, Tony and I received a mysterious note from Jared, Simon, and Mallory Grace, three children who have experienced authentic encounters with the beings we call faeries. As hard as it was for us to believe, we came to see that there was no alternative explanation. Now, putting aside personal concerns, we bring their stories to you.

    Don says: "Excellent!"
    "Just like watching a movie!"

This review is for all the Spiderwick chronicles. I was turned off by the narrator at first but wow was i wrong... Reading the books is fun, but listening to Mark Hamill create all the characters was like watching a really great movie. He brings you into this book as if it were alive with all the different incredible voices he does this is truly a treat!

  • The Secret

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Rhonda Byrne
    • Narrated By Rhonda Byrne
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

It has been passed down through the ages, highly coveted, hidden, lost, stolen, and bought for vast sums of money. Fragments of this Great Secret have been found in the oral traditions, in literature, in religions and philosophies throughout the centuries. In this audiobook you will discover the Secret, and you will learn how to have, do, or be anything you want.

Elisabeth says: "Good for an intro to the Law of Attraction"
    "Something to think about..."

I enjoyed this book and so have some close friends that are just now after 5 months seeing how powerful the effects are. I'm new to this and have only been practicing for a month and already see the results. I can't wait for the long term items, but I'll enjoy the ride as I go.

This book is for those who are looking to truly help themselves. The mind is a powerful thing. For those looking for something or someone to give them happiness, you’ll never find it. You have to do it yourself and it may not happen in 5 minutes. The tools given in this book are powerful, but they are only tools and won’t work if you don’t use them.

This is a very positive uplifting book that can change your life.
