'We are the last defence.I've seen him on the news. Followed the stories about what happened to John Smith. To the world he's a mystery, but to me ... he's one of us. Nine of us came here, but sometimes I wonder if time has changed us, if we all still believe in our mission. There are six of us left. We're hiding, blending in, avoiding contact with one another, but our Legacies are developing and soon we'll be ready to fight'....

Some say Demiel ben Yusef is the world’s most dangerous terrorist, personally responsible for bombings and riots that have claimed the lives of thousands. Others insist he is a man of peace, a miracle worker, and possibly even the Son of God. His trial in New York City for crimes against humanity attracts scores of protestors, as well as media and religious leaders from around the world.

They say the Messiah is alive. He is living in New York. Sleeping with men. Impregnating women. Euthanasing the dying, healing the sick. Defying the government and condemning the holy. If you met him.... and he changed your life... would you believe?

You really, really need to be an adult in both mind and years to listen to this story through to the end and not fling it aside. If you are deeply religious you will no doubt be horrified but if you can get past that and really listen to the message this book is trying to tell you, you may have an awakening.

This book is designed to shock….read it if you dare!

Meet Merlin. He's Lucy's bright, beautiful son - who just happens to be autistic. Since Merlin's father, the reserved, cerebral workaholic Jeremy, left them in the lurch shortly after Merlin's diagnosis, Lucy has made Merlin the centre of her world. Struggling with the joys and tribulations of raising her adorable yet challenging son, Lucy doesn't have room for any other man in her life ... so why bother trying to find one? When Lucy realises she's becoming cynical about life, she finally resolves to dip a toe back into the world of dating.

This book opened my mind to some of the joys and heartache of having an autistic child but it was written in such a way, and with such wonderful humour, that I didnt know wether to laugh or cry.The verbal wit of this author is both amazing and brilliant and her way of telling a tale makes you feel that the story is a bio. I believed every word.

Perhaps the most unconventional and literally breathtaking father-son story you'll ever read, My Friend Leonard pulls you immediately and deeply into a relationship as unusual as it is inspiring. The father figure is Leonard, the high-living, recovering coke addict, "West Coast Director of a large Italian-American finance firm" (read: mobster) who helped to keep James Frey clean in A Million Little Pieces.

What does Andy Paris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He turns the book into realism.

I am so glad I found James Frey, author. His style of writing in both his first bio, A Million Little Pieces, and now this followup is ingenious. I have never read another author with this style and it certainly kept me wanting more and more. In fact I listened until 2am so I could hear the ending…and now Im sad Ive finished the book.
Wether people believe these two stories to be true or not, James Frey kept me enthralled and Ill certainly read the next bio if he writes one.

James Frey wakes up on a plane, with no memory of the preceding two weeks. His face is cut and his body is covered with bruises. He has no wallet and no idea of his destination. He has abused alcohol and every drug he can lay his hands on for a decade - and he is aged only 23. What happens next is one of the most powerful and extreme stories ever told. His family takes him to a rehabilitation centre. And James Frey starts his perilous journey back to the world of the drug and alcohol-free living. His lack of self-pity is unflinching and searing.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Million Little Pieces?

    All of it

    Any additional comments?

I have never listened to a book quite like this before. I thought I had purchased a fiction book..it turned out to be 100% true! The style in which this book was written was so powerful it almost felt like I was in James Frey's skin. It was the most moving and incredible story of a man digging himself into the deepest depths and then finding the courage to literally pull himself back into the light.
The friends he made along the way will surprise you and perhaps make you realise that no matter how degraded a person has become, that nine times out of ten, there is still a good person willing to help his fellow man inside.
Some people may find this a little bit hard to get into the story, but do persevere. I promise you, you will listen to one of the most thought provoking storie in a long time.

When society ceases to exist, who can you trust? After the collapse of the nation's power grid, America is under martial law - and safety is an illusion. As violence erupts around him, Morgan Carter faces one of his most difficult decisions yet: whether to stay and defend his home, or move to a more isolated area, away from the prying eyes of the government. He and his family are hesitant to leave their beloved Lake County, but with increasingly suspicious activities happening in a nearby refugee camp, all signs point towards defecting.

This is a series so dont expect the usual ending where a story is complete. The author leaves you wanting more and to get more you buy the next book.
I have now read the 3 books and enjoyed every minute of each book. I hope there will be more.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I didn't like the narrator as her voice seemed rather sibilant and slurry. An English narrator would have been better. Her voice somewhat spoilt the story.

    Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this story especially as it was about my homeland. It was historically correct and that was an added bonus. The story was exciting and I'd gladly read another book if it was serialised.
