First off - the audio performance is extraordinary.
Second - This is the best Harry Bosch story I've heard so far... Unfortunately I never heard of Bosch until I started reading about Mickey Haller, so I have read a bunch of Bosch's stories in the wrong order.
Congrats, albeit belated, on a great book!
Within a few short years, retired Police detective is running a covert operation in the Middle East.
I really enjoy detective novels, and I like the character John Corey, but the story was predictable and unlikely.
I think I'm done with this series.
Good story, lots of action, but no real surprises, except for the lack of a real ending!
Narration was good, Nick Sullivan does a very consistent job, you know who is talking based on his voice, very good.
Wow, the narration was just fine, the other reviews were used to another narrator, but Nick Sullivan does a very good job.
The story was action packed and you got everyone's perspective. I felt like this character must have been the precursor to Jack Bauer and the 24 series, quite a similar feel - great nonetheless.
Can't wait to read/listen to book 2!
I liked the idea of the story, but in the end it was very predictable. The narration was decent.
The first two books in this series were good, not as good as the reviews here, but good.
This book is nonsensical. Characters are thrown away without any common sense, the main character's hero complex is blindly followed by adults in the story... totally unbelievable. This here has no special ability, no super powers, just a bad attitude and severe mental issues... but that is good enough for characters to just dash after her to their demise.
Then to top it off, the goose chase in the last 2/3 of the book comes to an end with a big empty nothing.
The ending was okay, but the first 3/4 is like wading through trash.
The narration was excellent at times.
Interesting behind the scenes look at Tina Fey. Fairly funny. Her reading improves the experience since she adds personal feeling to the account.
