When I read this many years ago it changed something inside me. I have recommended it to many over the years. Re-visiting this book, while not with the original spark, was a wonderful and necessary part of my journey. Anyone who is drawn to self exploration and growth needs to read this.

The death of the Roman Empire is one of the perennial mysteries of world history. Now, in this groundbreaking book, Peter Heather proposes a stunning new solution: Centuries of imperialism turned the neighbors Rome called barbarians into an enemy capable of dismantling an Empire that had dominated their lives for so long. A leading authority on the late Roman Empire and on the barbarians, Heather relates the extraordinary story of how Europe's barbarians, transformed by centuries of contact with Rome on every possible level, eventually pulled the empire apart.

All I can do is stand to appluad. Thank you so much, Traci. This journey has been a wonderous one. From the dark ages to the completion of the Timekeepers in a Universe Parallel you have taken myself, and many others, on a journey of discovery and adventure. All good things come to an end, but new beginnings spring forth. I, we, very much look forward to new adventures to share on a ride through your marvelous imagination and soul connection.

This book is easily one of the best I have ever read.

Traci, you have really set a very high bar for the last book in the trilogy, and anything you write henceforth.

I was kept on the edge of my seat the whole way through. No let up in the action and mind bending paradoxial twists and turns.

    Truly magnificent!

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

As an audio book pretty bloody good though the extras involved in the reading were sparodically involved wich was a little dissapointing. Other than that was very good.

    The whole book

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

What happens when human society stagnates? What happens when the opressed find a Messiah? What happens if the oppressed controll the most valuable substance in the known universe? Dune!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because it opens into one of the best trillogies I have ever read. This audio version is excellent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tori is going to be every ones fave. She represents so much that is true in us and what we should be aspiring to.

What does Edwina Wren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Edwina brough pronunciation of the welsh names that I had only done phonetically from reading the books. Her lilting voice and subtle use of accents and tonal changes for the characters was nicely done.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Many!

    Any additional comments?

When do we get the rest of the trillogies as audio books?
