Emmy award-winning journalist Charlie Rose has been praised as "one of America's premier interviewers". Each night, as host of his PBS program, Charlie Rose engages America's best thinkers, writers, politicians, athletes, entertainers, business leaders, scientists, and other newsmakers in one-on-one interviews and roundtable discussions.

    Overall

Charlie Rose is the most engaging interviewer with the most interesting guests on American television. Full stop. Little of his deft style and the dynamic of interchanges with his guests is lost in the audio-only format. Simply, he is too articulate to leave to gestures what could be accomplished with words. Moreover, his non-confrontational approach naturally lends itself to audio.

The range of guests appearing on his show is impressive: executives, artists, academics, diplomats, the list goes on. All of these guests not only are at the top of their fields, but each has something very, very interesting to say. And, of course, Charlie Rose brings it out in spades!

His approach is much more analytical than typical broadcast interviewers. He fully rejects the sound-bite, for-or-against bias to which we have become accustomed in the press. For my money, he is the model to which broadcast interview journalism should strive.

Now that Audible has sorted out the broadcast delay issue (now offering day-after-the-broadcast service), there is no reason not to try this show!
