Todd, the youngest of four children, has a developmental disability that keeps him at home on the farm with his mother and father. One special holiday season, Todd hears an ad on the radio from a shelter looking for temporary homes for their dogs during the holiday week. When Todd's parents at last give in to his pleas for this charitable cause, the family is faced with an entire shelter full of dogs needing homes.

I really enjoyed this. A very simple story. It will get you in the Christmas mood if nothing else will. I am sending this as and early christmas gift to my family who are all dogs nuts and christmas crazy...I will be listening again...too.

Boomstick. Samurai bat. Motorcycle leather. And the will to live among the unliving. Augustus Berry lives a day-to-day existence comprised of waking up, getting drunk, and preparing for the inevitable day when "they" will come up the side of his mountain and penetrate his fortress. Living on the outskirts of a city and scavenging for whatever supplies remain after civilization died two years ago, Gus knows that every time he goes down into undead suburbia could be his last.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I really enjoyed this book to my surprise. Writting was well done. Narrator was excellent. Could not stop listening. And I Iiked that this was in Canada. Enough with the New York and LA Zombies! Already bought the next book (pre-release). I buy a lot of audio books 40-50 per year.. and this is in the top 10 listens I have had for awhile.

What did you like best about this story?

When I was listening to this I could almost image being in the situations described. They reflected a world and how I think most of us would react. The story had a continuing theme of the common man facing some tough life or death situations.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Several.. and I don't want to wreck the story for someone. But lets say the ending is really good:)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh:) Some funny moments in the book.

In this, the sequel to A Hymn Before Battle, Captain Michael O'Neal and his forces on Earth prepare to hold back an impending Posleen invasion.

I started reading John Ringo when he first got started. So I was excited to see most of his books going audio. This is as good as it gets. The audio book does not disappoint. The narrator does it justice. I am ex-army retired and a computer weenie (26 years), and believe that John captures the flavor and essence of the military and the techie side of warfare as well..lots of action and lots of good ideas and new concepts.
