What did you love best about Zombie Fallout 8?

I felt the wait for book 8 was a long one, I enjoyed the previous 7 that much so I had high a need for it sooner and expectations as well as questions. Would this be the end, how could Mark Tufo finish the series or continue it and in this I found out and Mark Tufo did not let me down. What did I love best about Zombie Fallout 8 - the wit, Mark Tufo has a gift for throwing out those lines that give that chuckle of pleasure, irony, a shake of the head and a giggle.

Have you listened to any of Sean Runnette’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Having only heard Sean Runnette in this series I would say he is perfect. Sean has Talbot down perfectly.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh boy yes, but unfortunately us chumps have to work.

    Any additional comments?

I have loved this series, and recommend it to anyone who likes a darn good zombie book and with humor, with vampires too and characters you can imagine.

I have to say Tripp is by far my favorite character. He keeps it real for me. How he survived the Zombie hordes is perhaps another story (hint, hint) Mr. Tufo.

I have had the pleasure of listening of the previous 7 in a series which for me gave me a month or more of isolation and high listening stats which proves the enjoyment. And this one would have been the icing and now I ask will there be more.... I will wait.

    The Perfect Version

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This was a great listen, so many stars and so many characters. Max Brooks wrote a brilliant book with great description and great words and each word spoken by stars who made the work come alive

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

It is not the end of the world, but the start of recovery

An enjoyable version and one I am truly pleased to have heard and have in my library.

High, I am a fan of the three leads and it was great to hear them all together in this.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

Each are fine speakers and all had great performances in this. Done in front of a live audience this protection took me there and in my minds eye I could see each of them there in front of me. A great performance.

  • Fanny Hill: Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure

Fanny Hill: Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure was one of the most banned and censored books in the history of literature. John Cleland (a contrary man of letters, prone to boasting and getting into trouble with the law) wrote it while he was in Fleet debtor’s prison. First published in 1748 and withdrawn within a year, it was not legally republished until a hundred years later. Widely considered to be the first example of literary erotica and a stylistic tour de force, with its combination of charm, daring and love of pleasure.

Teddy says: "No wonder this book was banned in Britain..."

    Any additional comments?

I had never read Fanny Hill (nor heard it until now) but knew off it. I knew of its reputation and history but on a whim decided to purchase and have a listen. The first thing I noted was how wound up we have become with a 'naughty story' a little bit of 'titillation' can be fun and Fanny Hill shows this. Why have we become so sour on the subject of titillation. Before TV and radio, at a time when people were more serious along came Fanny Hill and its like, shock, horror and giggles.

    Now is that not fun?

Omid Djalili's fascinating story begins with an unconventional childhood spent at his family's London guesthouse for visiting Iranians. At school he is kept busy with the beginnings of a passionate love affair with football but he hopes one day to live a more intellectually fulfilled life. For one wonderful summer in California it seems that maybe he will find his spiritual home at UCLA.

Would you listen to Hopeful again? Why?

Yes, most certainly. Omid Djalili spins a tale like no other. Down to Earth, an hint of crazy, lots of humor and of course, honesty. One listening will not be enough.

The choice of Omid doing the narration is a true gem of a decision. I have admired this man's humor for many years and no one but him could do himself justice. You can picture Omid in the Studio having fun narrating this book.

Have you listened to any of Omid Djalili’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have his other two books and enjoy them immensely.

    Any additional comments?

I have to say, in today's age there are jokes that would be considered wrong if said by any other person but Omid somehow gets away with it and makes us laugh doing it.

I find Omid a great comedian, I adore everything he does. He is able to, in this day of (as I see it) too much political correctness say what he does in a manner we just love, yet potentially said by others could be seen as racist, derogatory and offensive. Somehow Omid gets away with it - to our enjoyment. An honest comedian.

Well done Omid a fine book, a fine narration. And made a few travels on Public Transportation a lot more fun for me.

What made the experience of listening to The Jakarta Pandemic the most enjoyable?

I liked the timely of the book, the story did not rush and done not push too much at you. I could envisage that in an actual pandemic many of the stories in this book would or could occur and that I found made this book interesting.

What about Joseph Morton’s performance did you like?

A very good job, well don.

    Any additional comments?

I liked the timely in this book, how the timely made the book more believable. I was never bored or felt I had Heard (read) this type before.

2019. Six years after the Jakarta Pandemic “decimated” the world's population; life is back to normal for the Fletchers and most Americans. The United States stands at the brink of a complete domestic and international resurgence, with stories of confidence and prosperity dominating the headlines. Appearances can be deceiving. An undercurrent of paranoia and fear still runs strong below the surface; the collective angst spawned by 28 million American deaths forever stamped into population's psyche.

Would you listen to The Perseid Collapse again? Why?

Yes, it is a detailed and descriptive story. Listen carefully.

This is unlikely many disaster books, more detail, paced in reality in real time even. Which is better as it aids to the believability.

What did you like best about this story?

I think most of the characters but do like the lead Alec and in particular his wife. Someone I would not want to upset.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes and very nearly did.

    Any additional comments?

A good book, I read the Jakarta Pandemic which is the book that got me interested in Steven Konkoly's writing. I liked that as it was very detailed (as I will say in review of that book) so I expected much the same in this book and found it excellent in the style.

John David Farrell did an excellent job

Most certainly Stephen King's The Stand. I had thought nothing could compare to that book but Swan Song does come close. How close? Very close.

If you could rename Swan Song, what would you call it?

Leave as is, this is perfectly titled
