In Chatter, Patrick Radden Keefe investigates the international eavesdropping alliance known as Echelon, sorting facts from conspiracy theories to determine just how much privacy Americans unknowingly sacrifice in the name of greater security.

Eric says: "Really neat look at intelligence gathering/secrecy"
    "A must"
    Overall

So many different angles and elements- could be a thriller- but rings with expertise, facts, and keeps ones interest after the book is done! Sobering!

After 20 years in Britain, Bryson returned to the U.S. and decided to reacquaint himself with his native country by walking the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail, which stretches from Georgia to Maine. This is his humorous, inspiring account.

Jeff says: "Wonderful book, but hardly abridged"
    "Laugh - travel-learn"
    Overall

I love Bill Bryson- so glad he reads his own material because it adds that element of real time and place - he is funny as a reader-writer; yet as often as I listen, he never fails to cause one to think, or if you are a world traveler, to remember!

Great new characters- made me glad Patterson's audiobook was NOT a quickie-- very entertaining!

With chaos brewing, the governor calls upon Jamie Fraser to unite the backcountry and safeguard the colony for King and Crown. But from his wife, Jamie knows that three years hence the shot heard round the world will be fired, and the result will be independence, with those loyal to the King either dead or in exile. And there is also the matter of a tiny clipping from The Wilmington Gazette, dated 1776, which reports Jamie's death, along with his kin.

    Theresa says: "disappointing"
    "Jamey and Claire"
    Overall

This last? in D. Gabaldon's series of tales from Scotland delivered all the elements I continue to enjoy within her Outlander series. Don't care for Sir John or anything but James Fraiser and Claire- hope for more to come! Her reader is essential and the best!!!
