I don't really like it. Lots of internal dialog about what the two main characters think about each other, and not much else. Well, that's how it's been for a little over 4 hours of it. I'm starting to get annoyed with it. Hopefully things will get better.
Ok, so I had a few issues with this book. The first was the narrator. The way she speaks make everything sound snotty and kinda uppity. The writing was good, but sometimes I had to stop and rewind because the author liked to throw a lot of explanations in the middle of a conversation. I would forget what the last character said, and would have to go back. Maybe it was my fault, since I listen to books while working, but I've never had this much of a problem before. I do agree that the main character is really immature for her age. At one point she is dumb founded that her father wanted to teach her responsibility. She just can't seem to believe it. Really? Personally, I wouldn't leave the main character in charge of my rock collection. Probably won't go for the second book in the series.
I liked this. It was a sweet love story. The ex-husband was really lame. The narrator was okay, sometimes a little to robotic I guess, but all in all I liked it.
I liked this series, it was good. Well, some of it was good.
The author needed to find a different word for ruthless though. It was said a lot, throughout the entire series. After a while it got a little annoying. There were a couple of other words that the author couldn't seem to let go of, but I can't really think of what they are right now.
There was a lot of talk in the first books about how they needed to do something about Garth, but none of the lead women ever really did anything.
I liked this book the best out of all 4. Garth was my favorite male, and his was relationship with Dana was cute.
So, I listened to this while working, as I do most of my audio books, and got teary eyed from all the bad stuff that went down. Not the best thing while working. I can honestly say the ending didn't give me the warm and fuzzies.
Not a fan of the narrator at all. She sounds like a robot, except when she is speaking the dialog. It made listening very hard. The dialog for the male lead is done in this raspy voice that makes you want to offer the narrator a bottle of water. I honestly will avoid books with her as narrator in the future. Besides that, that book was okay. The author is very...descriptive. (Now say all of this in a slow robotic voice.)
Let me just say, I listened to this while I was shopping in walmart, and got some very odd looks as I laughed out loud.
This was funny and hot, and I really liked the narrator.
I'm only in chapter 6, and I am not that impressed. The woman is so annoying with all the insecurities, and the long incessant complaining about how she's not good enough and blah, blah, blah. Then there were the maggots and the great detail for the decay...This just isn't my kind of book I guess. I'll keep listening, but I just don't want to.
