The reading was uninspired. I found my mind drifting to other subjects while listening to the book. The opposite of this would be the audio book "Insanely Simple."
The material felt dated and I struggled to find the relevance even though it was modified since the original publication.
You are only as good as the material given. I know this is a "top 10" marketing book but if I can't make it through four chapters... any other entrepreneurs/leaders out there with ADD? It just needed some punch. Overall, I find author reads better.
Give this book as an abridged/executive summary version.
Great case studies. Examples were abundant and served as the backbone of the book. For Marketers, this is a solid read. Now... if only your company could be Apple... why?
Relaxed, pointed, articulate
To get me up to speed quickly I played it back at 1.5x and had no problems understanding it. If you've never tried this feature, just let your brain adjust (it will be a little odd at first) and you will fly through the books. It would have been worth it to spend the entire time on this book but why not hack it?
You know when your boss tells everyone that you must read a book? This was the most recent one for us and it was an excellent choice.
I was bookmarking this book like no other. Berger's angle brings research into the equation. If you've read other marketing books and wanted tangible, actionable things you can do with the inspiration - this is it.
Great case studies. Good wit. A variety of examples.
Keith really captured the candor of Berger. Because this book is written with levity, having it read allows for intonation you might not get reading it yourself. Sarcasm doesn't always read well.
