Such a good story I've recommended it to family members for their weekly reading group.
I look for 3 things in prepper fiction 1 - disaster plot development, 2 - interesting character development and 3 - prepper hints and ideas. This story was, as a first effort, surprisingly good at all three and I anxiously await the rest of the story! The constructive criticism - contractions are normal for conversations! The narrator improved as the story progressed so I will allow for that as a positive as well.
Bravo Mr. Goodwin!
I loved the story, characters, plot-line and "prepper" ideas but the narration almost made me quit listening on numerous attempts. By the later chapters there was finally some flow and less than monotone delivery. I'll be purchasing the rest of the series but hoping for a narration improvement.
Love series audiobooks so this was a good second installment, looking forward to number three!
Always on the hunt for new characters/authors so this was a good find. I will definitely be getting more of Scarpetta.
As a professional driver I listen for hours but this has been a magnificent struggle to stay listening. I am usually pretty cautious with my credits but bought at sale price and still feel gyped. There is probably a good story here and as a first in a series I had high hopes. Narration is an art and I will probably never give Peter Hartman another try, no matter what is occurring in the story; be it a gunfight or a boardroom meeting; the inflection never wavers. Perfect diction but absolutely boring delivery.
engrossing, exciting, fantastic
Darkest Night of the Year because of the character developement
Excellent ability to differentiate between characters.
What fantastic, world changing experience did these folks share... and then forget?
Koontz is always a good investment of my monthly credits!
