Stoner knew. The fiery object hurtling toward the Earth was an alien spacecraft. But the world might never know. He was trapped in an iron cordon of secrecy, for the discovery had shattered the world power balance, setting off a brutal struggle for supremacy that raged from the sacred halls of the Vatican to the corridors of the Kremlin and the Pentagon. The forces of fear and treachery would use any weapon at their command, from mind war to sabotage, to keep the world in darkness.

    "Not Sci-fi"
    Overall

WARNING THIS BOOK IS NOT SCI-FI.
I struggled through all three books looking for a great Sci-fi thriller and all you get is "World Peace", Let's get along with nature", and "Let's redistribute the world wealth". What you get out of 3 books and 34 hours is 2 hours of Sci-fi and 32 hours of pure tripe. These three books were an insult to myself and any other Sci-fi fan. Bova was selling a Sci-fi book to finance his soapbox and I am insulted. Bova is off my list for ever, and and unless your into being insulted, Bova should be off your list to. The first volume rates two stars for the two hours of Sci-fi. Book II and III need to be rated -10.

Neal Stephenson is a blazing new force on the sci-fi scene. With the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel Snow Crash, he has "vaulted onto the literary stage." It weaves virtual reality, Sumerian myth, and just about everything in between with a cool, hip cybersensibility - in short, it is the gigathriller of the information age.

    A. Tuck says: "Classic Stephenson"
    "forget about it-t-t-t-t"
    Overall

Like watching a 17 hour reality show that goes nowhere, and I mean nowhere. If you rate this one greater than 1 star you really need to get out more, a lot more.
