Cy Judge says: "A great audio book"
    "John Lee: Perfection Again"
    Overall

Absolutely amazing book. John Lee brought the characters to life and made this audio version even better than the book I read so many years ago. Every bit as good as The Pillars Of The Earth and World Without End. I'm hooked on John Lee.

The year is 878, and the Saxons of Wessex, under King Alfred, have defeated the Danes to keep their kingdom free. Uhtred, the dispossessed son of a Northumbrian lord, helped Alfred win that victory, but now he is disgusted by Alfred's lack of generosity. Uhtred flees Wessex, going north to search for his stepsister in the formidable stronghold of Dunholm.

    Thomas says: "Excellent historical fiction"
    "Perfection"
    Overall

Cornwell does it again. The Saxon Stories are a great addition to his long list of masterpieces. As usual, he pulls no punches. This is gritty, bloody reality in 9th century England. You will not be disappointed.

To survive in a game with no rules at all, John Corey must invent a strategy that includes no luck at all. He and the Anti-Terrorist Task Force must stop "The Lion," an alleged Libyan terrorist with the instincts of a wild animal, the bloodlust of a carnivore, and the boldness and speed of a cat of prey.

    Toni says: "Remarkable!"
    "Horrible"
    Overall

The only redeeming quality in this overblown meandering mess is narrator Scott Brick. Unlike the book, I'm going to get to the point.

Don't waste your time on this. In the end, you will have gained nothing and feel ripped off. Mainly because, after hours and hours of unrealistic nothingness, this garbage had no real finale. The book that would never end, didn't!

    Yawn. 1 star is generous.
