I bought all the books in the series and have enjoyed listening to them. I think I might listen to them more than once. Jeffrey Kafer's performance is also very good.
I have listened to the whole series and would recommend it to readers of all ages.
So I add my voice to the thousands that have already proclaimed this series praises.
I have listened to the whole series and other spin-off books. I would highly recommend all the books in this series. I now wait for anything new from this author and quickly pick it up and listen to it.
I loved the concept behind the story. However, the writing is choppy and the narration could have been better. Both of these improve in book two and three. Note: I just got done with listening to the the four book Aragon series. As a result, I had very high expectations. In the Aragon series both the writing and narration were vastly superior to this series. Another thing I did not like about all three books in this series was the amount of explicit sex. If I want porn, I will read porn... This is not a series for young teens, and for sure not pre-teens.
If you like space operas with lots of combat and well written battle scene then both this book and series will be for you. I love this series and would place it on par with the Lost Feet series by Jack Campbell. I also enjoy the Narrator. Though I would recommend starting with book one.
If you like military SiFy and other series like the Mike Shepard's -- Kris Longknife and Jack Campell's -- Lost Fleet series's you will like this one. So far the Author has written nine books in the series and Audible has only three of them...
I will quickly pick up all that are added in the future...
I would put this in the same league as the Kris Longknife, Lost Fleet, and Casandra Kresnov series. Interesting story, good character development, and the narration is top notch.
I have every audio book in the series. This another series I enjoy and have listened to more than once. While I did not like the Vicky Peterwald series... Here the author has returned to a more tried and true action bases formula... The narrator (one of my favorites) as usual makes the story very enjoyable...
I just got done listing to this book. I will be returning it..
So much more could have been done with the base concept in the book.
I was hopping for something in the Lost Fleet or Kris Longknife type of space adventure.
I was very disappointed. The authors writing style needs lots of work.
Example: At one point everyone on the bridge of a ship or two were introduced along a few "interesting" details about each. Now I am sorry, but most folks will only remember the names of one or two key characters. One should concentrate on developing them. Not giving me useless personal details on folks I may on hear about only one time. It got to the point I just did not care any more.
As one reviewer also pointed out this author has a very limited view of professionalism of woman kind. Example: One of the first things a female computer expert wants to do is give the newly found alien ship the woman's touch. What??? There is more stuff like this...
This is a well executed and pivotal book in a great series. Rennee does another outstanding job of narration. To date, I have listened to this book all the way through two times. The last two hours of the book are pivotal for the story arc and hugely enjoyable therefore I have listened to this part over five times.
I would recommend this series from start to finish. All the books have well developed characters, lots of action, and a decent amount of humor. I enjoy this series so much that I have listened to each book at least twice, if not more...
This is book 7 in a 14 book series...
I have every book in the series and would place it in the category as these space series -- The Lost Fleet by Jack Campbell, Kris Longknife by Mike Sheperd, and Cassandra Kresnov by Joel Shepperd.
