Her Imperial Highness the Grand Duchess Victoria Maria Teresa Inez Smythe-Peterwald, daughter of wealth and power, was raised to do little except be attractive and marry well. Then everything changed - her brother, her father’s favorite and the heir apparent, was killed in battle by Lieutenant Kris Longknife, daughter of the Peterwald’s longtime enemies. Vicky vowed revenge, but her skill set was more suitable for seduction than assassination, and she failed. Angry and disappointed, her father decided she needed military training and forced her to join the Navy.

I like the Kris Longknife books and the other spin offs. This on is boring, not enough action, a lot of the action is very contrived, and the book has too much sex.

The narrator did a good jobs as she usually does...

In 23 Years on Fire, Cassandra discovered that the technology that created her has been misused in her former home and now threatens all humanity with catastrophe. Returning home to Callay, she finds that Federation member worlds, exhausted by the previous thirty-year-war against the League, are unwilling to risk the confrontation that a solution may require. More frighteningly for Sandy, she has brought back to Callay three young children, whom she met on the mean streets of Droze, discovering maternal feelings she had not known she possessed.

I have listened to all the books in the series. The first three books three times each because they were so enjoyable.

The third book only once (so far).

This forth book is one of the best. If you like stories that explore the nature of societies, the meaning of humanity, human androids, political intrigue, lots of gun fights, and strong female leads this one is for you.

This is a logical next step in the series story arch. As usual Dina Pearlman gives an excellent performance.. If you like the Kris LongKnike series by Mike Shepperd you will like this one. Though this series is a bit deeper in the philosophical reflection department.

There is political intrigue, ass kicking of bad guys by Sandy and her friends, Ground Battles, philosophical reflection on the nature of man and how technology can change him, and lessons on various current religions and East Asian societies -- reflected into the future.

I enjoyed it and will be listening to this book again.

A wonderful syfi adventure series. Well written excellent character development and imaginative stories. Also, the narrator does a excellent job.

The one problem is that we do not yet have access to the full series. Not only that, some of the books in the series have been skipped. The reading order should be:
    Event -- Available at audible.
    Legend -- Available at audible.
    Ancients -- Available at audible.
    Leviathan -- Missing
    Primeval -- Missing
    Legacy -- Missing
    Ripper -- Available at audible.

If Audible had all of them I would probably add them to my library.

Nola Leary would have been content to stay in Kilcairy, Ireland, healing villagers at her family’s clinic with a mix of magic and modern medicine. But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it. Complication One: The artifacts are lost somewhere in vampire Jane Jameson’s occult bookshop. Complication Two: Her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, keeps turning up half-naked at the strangest times....

The Narrator Amanda Ronconi does an excellent job representing the main character's 1/2 Boston 1/2 Irish accent and speech patterns. This is quite an accomplishment. However, the story though starts out really slow with the main character doing a lot of inner reflection.. I feel this period is needlessly long... The story and humor only takes off when other characters get involved. In general, I like Molly's books and listen to them for the humor and witty dialog... Molly does deliver in this book, but delivery takes awhile....
