The eighth entry in Charlaine Harris' New York Times best selling, Anthony Award-winning series finds Sookie reeling from an explosive attack on the previous month's vampire summit. Many vampires were killed, including several of Sookie's friends. But most pressing for Sookie is the unknown status of her weretiger boyfriend Quinn. Like it or not, everything is changing in the supernatural world - and Sookie is caught in the middle.

I've "read" all the books in the series and I'm happy to find out that we have quite a few more books to come, I can't get enough of it. However I agree with some comments here, that this book was not as good as the others. It seemed a bit slower, a lot of unnecessary parts, and I found myself not as usually captivated by Charlaine Harris' books. It was still a very good book, don't get me wrong. And I can't wait for the next one to come out. Hope audible.com has it on audio as soon as it comes out.

I thought we would have to wait until May 19 to get this on audio, as Amazon.com had that as the release date for the audiobook. So I'm so excited that I came by the site today and saw that it was available! I can't wait to start listening to it!

St. Vladimir's Academy isn't just any boarding school - it's a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They've been on the run, but now they're being dragged back to St. Vladimir's - the very place where they're most in danger.

    "Love this series"
    Overall

For anyone looking for a new vampire series to read, this one is really good! Probably my second favorite vampire series (Sookie Stackhouse being #1) Characters are all good and lovable :) Also, the narrator is good, on all the audiobooks of this series. I actually think the second narrator is even better because she doesn't do such a hard russian accent, which was making Dimitri seem a bit harsh in this first one. But love the series, and can't wait for the next book to come out this year!
