Would you consider the audio edition of The Halfling's Gem to be better than the print version?

Absolutely! The reason being is because I spend so much time in my car I can get through a book in a few weeks as opposed to months if I tried to read it during my free time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Halfling's Gem?

Victor Bevine's voice for the merchant that double-crosses the friends. I know his name but don't want to butcher the spelling!

Have you listened to any of Victor Bevine’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've only heard him with the Icewind Dale trilogy. All were strong performances and I find it amazing how he can keep all the voices straight.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Parts of it made me laugh.

    Any additional comments?

Can't wait for Legacy of the Drow to make it to Audible.

The planet Majipoor is shared by humans and several alien races, including four-armed Skandars, three-eyed Liiman, and the native, shape-shifting Metamorphs. All are watched over by the King of Dreams, the labyrinth-dwelling Pontifex, and the priestess of the Isle of Sleep, while the Coronal officially rules from atop Castle Mount.

Would you listen to Lord Valentine's Castle again? Why?

Absolutely! I have loved this story ever since I got my first hardback copy from the Science Fiction Book Club when I was a kid. Mr. Rudnicki really brings everything to life!

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Valentine, of course.

Which character – as performed by Stefan Rudnicki – was your favorite?

The Hjort in Valentine's troop. Mr. Rudnicki did a great job giving him a gurgling voice you'd expect from a frog-like race.

    Any additional comments?

All I can say is listen to this book! You'll love it!

Dark dreams disturb Lord Valentine's sleep, a forewarning of the danger that threatens the peace of Majipoor. The Shapeshifters have set in motion a terrifying plan to regain their stolen world and their allies, the ancient gods rising from their eons-long slumber beneath the oceans of the great planet. Suddenly, Valentine faces the greatest crisis of his reign.

What made the experience of listening to Valentine Pontifex the most enjoyable?

When I saw there were multiple narrators I was concerned. Well, those concerns quickly went away when I realized why they went with multiple readers. Each chapter focuses on a different part of the story and/or character. Having a different reader for each character or character types was brilliant!

Who was your favorite character and why?

They were all so good and well done I can't chose a favorite.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

All four narrators did an outstanding job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes but couldn't.

    Any additional comments?

This is among the best audiobooks I have listened to. The story and narrators made for a wonderful experience journeying to this world of Majipoor.
