When NBC decided to move Jay Leno into prime time to make room for Conan O'Brien to host the Tonight show - a job he had been promised five years earlier - skeptics anticipated a train wreck for the ages. It took, in fact, only a few months for the dire predictions to come true. Leno's show, panned by critics, dragged down the ratings - and the profits - of NBC's affiliates, while ratings for Conan's new Tonight show plummeted to the lowest levels in history.

I remember watching the late shift movie about when Leno (I even hate typing his name) usurped Letterman for the Tonight Show. While I love Letterman, Conan became my guy almost from the beginning. This book gave me an in depth look at the late night drama I was seeing unfold on TV with my guy and some of the juicy history. It was really cool to read something about something I was so invested in. I was in the audience on is second night at The Tonight Show when he got his nickname from Tom Hanks and was there for the rally that protested him going off the air during his last week.

If you have any love for a late night host - Jimmy, Craig, Letterman, Fallon, Corbert, etc. then you should check this out. It gives you a behind the scene look at what was going on and history about all the hosts at the time. I loved it!!

I really wish they would add LATE SHIFT cause I would love to read that too.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

I know nothing about 80's video game but found this book so intriguing. I have to admit I wanted to listen to it because of Wil Wheaton and I am so glad I did. It is a really good story about believing in yourself and friendship disguised in a world of technology and games. It left me wondering if this is where technology is going and how far off is it really. I highly recommend it.

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

Okay so if you are expecting the back story of the musical WICKED, you will be disappointed. The book is much darker and covers a lot more of Elphaba's life. The first hour or two, I didn't know if I could listen anymore because it was only focused on her family when she was young. I stuck with it and it turned around. I had just read the first Wizard of Oz story so it was fun to see how he weaved his story into that. I would say give it a try but if you are only looking for the school fun years and Glenda then you might want to stick to the musical.

I am an adult who really likes this young adult series. I know some people didn't like the end of this book but I liked it. I feel like it is true to life. Bad stuff happens to people and they can't just recover without scars (literally and figuratively). If you go into the final book prepared to hate it, you probably will. Instead go into with an open mind. Ask yourself what you or your family would be like if you had to kill people to survive (i.e. the Hunger Games). This might give you more perspective on why the book ends the way it does.

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

What made the experience of listening to Bossypants the most enjoyable?

Tina Fey! This book has to be listened to because it is just like she is telling me the stories!!

What did you like best about this story?

It's hilarious for one and two if feels genuine and not hyped up to be funny.

Have you listened to any of Tina Fey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No... but I love everything Tina does!

    Any additional comments?

If you haven't read this book, you need to! It will make you laugh out loud for sure.
