Oh yes I will do that indeed, and more then just twice.
The Valkyrie chronicles by Eric Schubach. (Old protagonist) as in 5000++. However the protagonist is female there, but still almost equal too Iron Druid Chronicles in my opinion.
A quick reference too the review before mine. There have been 2 Narrators for the Iron Druid Chronicles. Cristopher Ragland and Luke Daniels. So no there wasnt a change of narrators. However I have heard both of them and I think Luke is by far the better one. (Ragland is great, don't get me wrong, but Luke Daniels is the best narrator in the world hands down.) There is no competing whit the worlds best, again in my opinion.
And as too waht I Loved about Luke's performance is everything, every nuance and prononciation. Especialy Oberon. Bloody brilliant.
I Like Iron Druid so stick whit that.
The series continues where Book 6 left off. While the series is one of the best I have ever listened too, I still find it hard too reconcile whit the Granuail from Atticus's perspective and the flowery poetic way she thinks from her PoV. However that is the only criticism I can give and its so minor its automaticly forgiven. The story ROCKS as it did from book one. Get this series. Its so worth it. If you don't laugh from this you basicly have no humor =)
I loved how the story progressed. I Loved how the main character progressed from geek too basicly a hero straight out of legend, and how his character growed. Also Loved how his relationship whit Fetch the dragon progressed.
I loved the setting whit secret magical races in a modern setting. The banther was great I was laughing along when the main characters where goofing off.
Its a close call between Jack and Fetch. He did a great job. Only negative part is occationaly he would say a line or two twice. Which isnt his faulth but rather whoever put together the Audio. But not enough too rank it down too a 4 star.
This is worth getting for the laughs and excitement. I would reckomend it for YA but I still enjoyed it immensly and im 23. I saw someone in another review mention it ends on a cliffhanger and he/she had a MAJOR understatement there. A cliffhanger doesn't beginn too describe it accurately. (Not a bad ending at all) But I can't wait for the next release. The main story isn't hard too guess, and by the time the villain was revealed I had already guessed it a few hours back. But It didn't take any enjoyment from the story, I was just immensly pleased whit myself. So give this a try It is definately worth it. 5/5
Yes I might. When the next book comes out. Hopefully wont have too wait as long for the next one since its already published.
The concept of the book isnt unique, tough many of the characters and lore is. What makes this series great is the interraction between characters and I haven't seen anything like it since I started this series so I can't make any good comparisons.
He was just about perfect for it. Only negative remark for me was the mind speak between Garth and his talking horse Night (yeah yeah) tough it is a YA series I still enjoyed it.
I laughed several times actualy. It is a very funny series. Tough the elements too it is very bad / evil the entire thing is so light hearted because of the characters and they are very well written and funny.
Funny, exciting and sad --> ending.
The ones that stick closes too my mind is how unfairly she is treated by the vampire council which pisses me off no end. Which the ending will defenately indicate.
She is one my top 3 of favourite female narrators. so 5/5 excellent job!
Yeah i got it all in one go, I was working overtime so I was listening almost nonstop from 06.30 til 19.00 whit some pauses in between.
This is a great series, and I know there are many more books that are already published so we hopefuly doesnt have too wait that long until the next one is available as Audiobook. Tough the ending truly disturbed me so they better hurry i wan't too know how its resolved Asap!
Yes I definately would. Its funny and exciting. Its very fast paced, it kinda goes from action, too detective work and then some more action.
There were quite a few, but the one that stuck whit me (and almost made me give 4.5 instead of 5 stars) Is the fact that Taz keept denying her Shapeshifter nature. At no point in this book does she come too terms whit it. She does make strides towards acceptance but doesn't quite reach it. Tough it is explained and understandable, but it almost got me depressed. Which is a compliment too the author i suppose =)
She was excellent. One of the best female narrators I've heard. 5/5 for sure.
Its a great Urban Fantasy book tough it isn't quite like many others i've read. While this genre seem too be 9/10 books whit female characters the only other series that could match / best this one would have too be Kate Daniels. Tough it would be a close one. However I will be looking forward too the sequel. My research indicates there are atleast 2 more books that is already out, tough not made into Audiobooks yet.
I probobly will before the next book comes on Audible. (There are 5.5 books) and the series is finished, so if they decide too continue this on Audible its no long waits.
It reminds me abit of Percy Jackson (the later ones) not the first 5. Eccept its abit more mature.
Matt of course.
I Listened trough 4/5 at work and the rest while making dinner so yes =)
I'd say its ment for 12+ or so but I'm 23 and still found it enjoyable.
Aodhan. I quite enjoy books where the protagonist is centuries old.
I loved his accents. 5/5
Its worth getting. It is funny and the concept is rather unique. Especialy liked how Demons weren't something inherently evil and didn't come from hell, but rather occationaly from human beings.
I will probobly do that when / if a sequel comes.
Because the story is exciting and fun.
The main character Cor.
He was pretty much everything you want your main protagonist of a fantasy story too be, while still being unique.
No I have not. He is a good narrator, tough it took me 30 minutes or so too get used too him.
I loved how he made up the world, he hit the perfect combo by Light fantasy and Dark (Imo) I realy don't like the stories too get too dark.
I especialy liked how he made even a good god's followers seem abit like christianity in the past. You either follow our way or you're a blasphemer and evil etc. It made it seem much more real too me. Even so they aren't bad guys just ignorant and conceited.
How the magic of this world worked was especialy enjoyable too me because it was unique, atleast Cor's magic is, the priests and necromancers are quite normal Light vs Dark and all that.
The one tiny miniscule complaint I have is that the story had a way of going abit slow at times (Tough never ever boring, just slowly building). And It cought me hook line and sinker despite of it.
I reckomend this too anyone who likes fantasy.
I didn't read it I just listened. Tough i generaly prefer the Audiobook versions so i can listen while im doing errands at home or at work.
When Carson? (I forget the names) fought the duel against a krall. But that is just one of many.
None that comes too mind. However he is an excellent narrator, I have no complaints whatsoever.
I laughed out loud several times. And at occasions i got quite anxious / nervous about what was about too happen.
For some reasons I didn't get very attached too the characters, but nonetheless i loved the story. Which is wierd for me, because i usualy "Bond" too the main character and absolutely hate when the narrative is switched about. However Bennett made it so it was a story I wasnt seeing trough the main characters side but rather like i was standing at the sidelines and thus while loving the story and not the characters i didnt mind all the switching about and was looking forward too what happened next. This is absolutely new for me. I would have given it a 4.5 / 5 stars.
I am anxiously awaiting the next book.
Yes I definately will. It was funny and fast paced. Also the action was great. |
It is very hard too choose just one, so I have too say Kate, Kara and Arena. They were funny and badass.
No I have not, but her voice was a perfect fit 5/5.
Hah I don't think that would end well too be honest =)
If you read and loved Iron Druid Chronicles this is definately for you. Its like the female version of Atticus (Not a copy or anything, just realy well written and performed imho), just different Mythologi. And their not gods just realy long lived and powerful because of Nano tech, so its more Sci fi than Fantasy.
