Waste of a credit. Unbelievable plot with a couple of poor sex scenes thrown in to make it "hot". Bad writing, so-so narration. I might have thought this was a sexy story when I was young. As an adult, it was boring, at best.
Stephanie Bond writes chic lit that is always fun to read. Great characters, with a budding romance mixed into the mystery plot. BUT . . . the narrator has could be improved. I've never heard the word "garage" pronounced so weirdly, even in New Orleans.
Save your money and pass this poor story by. Author should have concentrated less on the sex and much more on the story.
A nice Holiday addition to the Jane Jamison spin-offs. Light, romantic, fun. Molly Harper is always a fun read.
My ongoing complaint is the change in narrator! Other than that, this is great chick lit/paranormalmromance/mystery/adventure series. Makes me want to vacation in Chicago for all the great food Merit talks about while solving all the problems of Cadogan House. Sexy without being vulgar, good plot, dramatic, humorous and just an all over good read.
Okay chick-lit for a beach read. But if you leave it on the sand and the tide sweeps it away, not to worry. You haven't lost too much and you probably figured out the ending in the first few chapters,
Loved the story. So very different. Not a mystery, not a love story, not a ghost story. But it is also all of those as well. Nice for a change of pace. Just don't know how to catagorize it.
My biggest complaint is that I have to wait so long between novels! It took me three tries to get into the first book in this series, but they just keep getting better. I'm hoping for that "happily ever after" but since the author never does the expected, I'm sure the next book will be a surprise! Can't wait.
The author's addiction to coffee is obvious, but the details are so well written that I want to try out the Melita, the French Press, etc. A good story with a very likable protagonist, good sub-plots and the need to read the follow up novel because I want to know what happens next.
I real enjoyed this. The author has a good command of the language.
I found the style of the narrator rather boring, but the story kept me hooked. Not what I expected and it held my interest. Without spoiling the story, it was very moving. I was listening to it while on a road trip and when the story ended, I had to pull over to the side of the road because it left me so emotionally moved, I needed to just stop collect myself.
