You really need to have a soft spot for the canine in order to appreciate this book. 80% of the book is about training puppies and their humans, 10% romance, and the other 10% is about a serial killer that appears maybe every five chapters. Being that i love puppies and dogs i enjoyed the book, however Ms. Robert's could have added a few sub plots to make it more enjoyable. What i'm trying to say is if you aren't interested in search and rescue dogs, or the information on how to train a dog/puppy you may not enjoy this book. The narration was pretty decent, i'd listen to her again.
I would probably listen to this one again further down the road. Excellent book!
This was Luke, Kate's and Taylor's story and IMO the best in the series. Very likable characters and I just loved watching how Luke and his daughter get to know each other. This book deals with some difficult abuse topics towards the end of the book mostly, the romance was really sweet and I enjoyed how the other characters from book one and two are intertwined. The writing was really well done, the way the author writes I felt like I was on Dare Island up close and personal. I could smell Tess's chocolate chip cookies.
I loved her male voice for Luke. I think Sophie Eastlake is very talented and I love how she gets involved in her reading and makes you feel like you are actually in the book with her!
I have been listening to the three Dare books consistently over the past four days, so yes, I would consider this one sitting. :-)
I loved the first book - Carolina Home Allison & Matts story
Did not enjoy the second book - Carolina girl - Meg & Sam's story
The best was the third book - Luke & Kate's story.
Just a quick note I tolerated the second book knowing it's apart of the series, I just really dislike the female character Meg. I wrote a review.
This book very much worth the credit. :-)
This is Meg & Sam's story, I would change out Meg from this book completely. I hated her. There were no redeeming qualities to her.
Up to the very last sentence of this book I wanted Meg to get run over by a big MAC truck! She'sa miserable, self absorbed, abrasive, selfish, greedy, rude, non empathetic, very uptight and I actually felt compared to her other family members ... Very disloyal!
I have always enjoyed Sophie Eastlake, her voices are perfect.
There is a book after this one and it's called Carolina Man. I hope I enjoy the next one and I hope Meg gets run over by that truck. ;-)
This unfortunately was part of a series and if you skip it you may miss some of what's happening for book three. Sorry.
Yes, it was a great story, very likable H/H. The beginning brings you in right away. I loved the family interaction with each other. This is a very light romance, not much sex but the love build up is really great.
I loved the ending, I bought book two.
I love Sophie Eastlake. She gives a great performance.
I did listen in one sitting. :-)
I have listened to this one twice. It was so good, so sexy and so very BAD!!!
The beginning was pretty funny when she chases Torment inside the ring to collect his ticket. But there are so many little scenes,
I though the doctor was pretty hysterical. Kind of reminded me of a very buff sexy hunk with the personality of Mr. Roper from Three's Company.
good listen, the second in the series is out and I have already down loaded for a good listen.
Ilike to listen to book rather than read. It frees me up to do things while getting into a good book.
I guess it was when she finds out what he REALLY wants. Sorry no spoilers here.
I don't have a particular favorite, but i enjoyed watching the love connection happen at it's finest.
I'm not very creative with questions like this, this is why I'm a listener not a writer.
Put this on your list. You wont regret it. :-)
Yes Yes Yes! But sadly not many of my friends that are avid readers as I am are very interested in paranormal books. But I have told them this is the series to start.
This is a hard one. I think it's Cookie in most of them, definitely in this one because sh just cracks me up with everything that comes out of her mouth.
Her delivery is spot on. Her voices are perfect. She's perfect.
I laughed throughout this entire book. I alway do with this series.
worth the credit. I listened to this one straight through.
I would put this in my favorite category but not on my favorite listens.
yes I would, I think she has potential for a good story line build up.
No this was the first, I will try her again though.
My extreme reaction was who chopped up this book? There seems to be so much more to this story that was deleted out of the book. In the first chapter it throws you right in but it feels incomplete in a way. There is no character build up, barely any description in her story telling. I just feel like this book could have been twice the length and could have been great rather than just OK.
It just fell a little short with me. I have a feeling the editor and publisher shredded it. Because the book has a feel like eventually we will know more but it never got there.
I have listened to this book twice and I probably will listen to it again later on. I usually try for a repeat when the book is pretty much awesome.
Kristen Ashley is no fluff piece writer, she seems to get right into it and boy did she!
I consider her an auto download. I simply love everything she puts out there and gobble it up like a needy chick. Lol. most of her writing with it's characeters usually have the same feel but different in every way. I recommend everything on her book shelf with her name.
i just loved the listen. her voices were great.
yes, the whole pool scene was good from the beginning of the chapter to the very end.
Again, I recommend everything she writes.
This had everything I love in a book, It's a thrilling fast paced romance with a great story line. It gripped me into the fold in the very first chapter.
the final show down was seriously tense. I thought it was well written and you find a little bit of a secret in that big scene that clicks it all together.
I loved every character, but of course the hero was my favorite. HE WAS BAD TO THE BONE WITH HEAT AND PURE SEX.
I did listen to this one in one sitting and worth every second of my time.
i know that Trace's story is coming in October and I am anxiously waiting.
Yes! And I have listened to it several timeseach time was better than the last.
I just really love the banter with Blair and her man. She's so sassy and it makes Wyatt CRAZY CRAZY in love!
Not a huge fan of Joyce Bean, I thought she sounded too old but I guess after my umpteenth listen I just got used to it. The story out weighs the narration.
No crying in this book. Laughter, oh yeah. This book had me in the first five minuted doubled over. It was a whole fight about Blair being BLAIR BLOODSWORTH.
This was a great follow up book from the first, 'TO DIE FOR'.
