...in a few parts, the music was overpowering the voices, you could hardly hear the reader and when they spoke low, impossible. Who ever put this book and music to audible did a poor job.
If you (audible.com) want better reviews on this one, redo the sound or take the music out.
Other then that, I liked it. Gave an insight into a few areas I didn't know about. Such as where Jane came from, and Enders parents meeting.
I enjoy listening to Marc Thompson so he's not the issue with this book. The story line is boring, the action is so so. The beginning for me was hard to follow, not sure why but it just was then it go boring.
... The books take lean a bit to much to the political left in my view. Yes yes I know that's trivial but when there is so much mention about global warming, being a veggin, saving the planet from evil man kind it gets boring. I don't blame this on Amanda Ronconi because she's the only reason I bought the books, she's a great reader and I have many of the books she's narrated.
I'm hoping for more in this series. Susan Bennett did a great job narrating and Christopher did just as great a job writing.
I've listened to the entire series of Molly Harpers books on these characters and loved them all,
I'm hoping for books on Zeb and his wife, or more about Jamie. I have not found any faults with her books so far.
Nothing against the Narrator, Thompson is the best for Star Wars, but seemed the story was less then I expected. It was ok to listen too.
Because the author, or who ever, changed the reader... I refuse to continue "listing" to any book who changes narrators in the middle of a series.
I've given this book, number 5, low ratings simply because I'm not buying the rest. I'm sure its good, not heard it yet, but thats it.
Not sure who changed it, the author or the reader, but I'm done with this series.
I look forward to book 5, but that will be my last one in the series because I've gotten to like Cynthia Holloway narrating.
To change a reader in any series is stupid, in my view, and makes it hard at least for me, to finish a series.
The series so far is good. I'm on book 3, towards the end as of this review and getting ready to get book4.
The reader is fine, to me she can change voice and pitch enough I know who's shes talking about. Story line is good, leaves you wondering what will happen next, least it does to me.
Over all, yes, I'd recommend the books.
Like all of Molly's books, they are fantastic. This one could of been longer compared to others for the price. Amanda Ronconi again hits out of park. Amanda does a PERFECT job at narrating all of Molly's books and I hope she continues doing so.
I wasn't too impressed with it even though I listened to the end. Could of been better. It just didn't grab me like the rest of the books I have.
