Witch and day-walking demon Rachel Morgan knows magic - earth, ley line, even the forbidden demon magic - and that knowledge has saved her life more than once. But now something - or someone - is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows, causing spells to backfire or go horribly wrong while living vampires attack humans and Inderlanders alike. The pressures build when the city is quarantined to contain the unreliable magic, and Rachel must stop the attacks before the undead vampire masters who keep the rest of the undead under control are lost and it becomes all-out supernatural war.

Marguerite Gavin is an amazing narrator. To give so many different charceters individuality, a personality & their own voice is just awesome. She breaths Life into these fun & crazy characters that Kim created.I am almost sad that there is only one book left in the series. I felt like one of her little mystics eaves dropping on all the chaos & drama.Jenks is a JOY, he would be a fun addition to any ones Life.Things have"really"changed though in this book. Some good & some not so good.Rachel has possibly found love & has lost great Ali's. She finds the strength when shoved down time & again only to rise above everything becoming even better than before.Keeping her morals intact, she's been forced to make big decisions, let other's help her & to find trust & to teach it as well.Wonderful series. All the charecters are so much fun. This series has truly been a joy to read & or listen to.Highly recommended:)

Joy Randall's Top-five tips for vampire hunters: Location, location, location. Vampires won't be caught dead (ha!) in places like discos, 10-minute lube shops, or Switzerland. Remember, if you wouldn't be there, neither would a bloodsucker. Trust your eyes. You know the handsome, annoyingly arrogant, self-assured man in the shadows with long hair and a cleft in his chin? He's your vampire. No matter how tempting it might be, do not "accidentally" acquire a paper cut on your finger and suggest your vampire kiss it to make it better....

The cover of the book is misleading. You THINK you will be reading a book on a"Vampires" romance but evidently that was just to tease you into getting the book with the"actual"Vampire in it(Christian Dante).Still, was a great story & the narrator did a great job doing the character's voices & giving them Life BUT it seemed to get hokey there towards the ending & it was dissapointing to me to find out that Raphiel's secret was that he was basically a spy & not a Vampire or some other paranormal creature.I kept hoping something odd would surface about him but it never did.But like I said, still a fun read, not what I expected though.

They killed me. They healed me. They changed me. Sure, the life of a graduate student wasn't exactly glamorous, but it was mine. I was doing fine until Chicago's vampires announced their existence to the world---and then a rogue vampire attacked me. But he only got a sip before he was scared away by another bloodsucker...and this one decided that the best way to save my life was to make me the walking undead.

    Story

Story is o.k.,alot like any other Vampire novel or movie that is out there. The Narrator kept the same tone in her voice with each character,I didn't feel that she gave them much individuality. Some times,it was even hard to follow, wondering WHO was actually supposed to be talking. There's either a lot of secrets being hidden or Ethen makes big decisions with out much thought. He didn't seem to have much faith in Merit but then goes & makes her this big time Sentinel.Who does that?So a bit unbelievable, with powers & choices made.Gradually coming into things & coming to under stand things, makes more sense.Over all,I enjoyed listening, would've liked it better just to have read the book though.

The historic hotel in Boonsboro has endured war and peace, the changing of hands, and even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major face-lift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect in the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was sixteen.

A bit disappointing.Usually Nora Roberts has great books but this one was a bit bland, repetitive & time consuming. This might've been better as an LMN movie instead of a book. Get it done & over with in an hour & a half.I am hoping that the next two books in this trilogy gets better. The narrator was good as far as doing the mens voices but can not do womens voices at all & the children, horrible. They came off as whiney children,it was like listening to nails being scraped across a chalk board.Might be better to just read the book who know's but I know that I usually enjoy Nora's books but this wasn't one of them. The story was o.k.

When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate - he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in 19th-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

Cute story about a struggling land scape designer(Nina)who meets Billionare Tech guy & together along with a few friends, they solve a murder mystery a 100 years old.I like Amanda Ronconi too for narration but she tends to sound very similar making it hard to know whose who during narration.A little tough to follow but over all the book was good.

The Perry family's new house is perfect - except for the weird behavior of the neighbors, and that odd smell coming from a dark corner in the basement. Pity no one warned the family about the house. Now it's too late. Because the darkness at the bottom of the basement stairs is rising.

Josie Douglas came to the isolated country cottage with her research, a good alibi, and a gun. She hoped that she'd have enough time to unravel the facts behind the tragedy that, years before, had shattered her life. Instead, she found herself in a house haunted by its own dark history.

Good, short story. Not really scary if you were hoping for some scary, more like a Mystery but a pretty good one.The narrator did pretty good especially doing the cat sound effects.Josie had her own Mystery to hide from Mark who works pretty quick in ALL things. The guy doesn't waste time when he wants something whether it's a love affair or information. Seemed to be a bit pushy for a Hero character but Josie falls for him any way.

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.

WOW what an amazing issue to this series. So many ups & downs.Lives & Loves lost. Harder choices to make & trusting people Rachel had originally thought not to trust. She is not alone though,Jenks & Ivy might be moving on with their lives but Rachel has found new foes with the Elves & the Demons, reconnecting two long time enemies to fight one powerful enemy. Will there be love or heart ache with the new relationship showing itself between Rachel & Trent.I can't wait to find out:)

What a mind rush reading & or listening to this fantastical series by Kim.Rachel learns to accept who she is & works on taking on the responsabilties that goes with power. The three Stooges trio of Rachel,Ivy & Jenks is changing, trickling down to the strange but interesting duo of Rachel & Trent. Is there romance aswell as adventure in the air for these two,I look forward to finding out in the next few remaining books of the series.Marguerite once again is amazing with doing all the voices, giving them individuality & keeping track of so many character's.The 19th,20th & the 21st chapter's though, she sounds a little strung out,a little slurred but seems to be back to her old self after those chapters.I give her credit for doing such a great job & doing a great performance.

I like Jayne's books & this one was a pretty good romantic suspense BUT I would rather had just"READ"the book. The Narrator is o.k.,sounds like she's just starting out with narrating books, she reads the story like you would expect to hear some one reading to children. She seems to get better as the book goes along but then towards the end is right back to narrating like in the beginning. The story was pretty good, unexpected people involved, keeps you guessing.
