One Sunday afternoon, as she unloaded the dishwasher, Gretchen Rubin felt hit by a wave of homesickness. Homesick - why? She was standing right in her own kitchen. She felt homesick, she realized, with love for home itself. “Of all the elements of a happy life,” she thought, “my home is the most important.” In a flash, she decided to undertake a new happiness project, and this time, to focus on home. And what did she want from her home? A place that calmed her and energized her. A place that, by making her feel safe, would free her to take risks.

What did you love best about Happier at Home?

Like the first book, it really helps you to connect to who you really are in able to help you focus on the things that make you feel good, while removing the things from your life that make you feel bad.

What about Kathe Mazur’s performance did you like?

It was very different. It makes the whole book feel less personal than the first book, but she did a great job of quoting the girls.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Happier at Home?

Being more focused on what I can do in my home, to make my home life happier.

    Any additional comments?

Well done Gretchen!! Can't wait for your next book.
