  • Fluke: Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Christopher Moore
    • Narrated By Bill Irwin

    Story

Just why do humpback whales sing? That's the question that has marine behavioral biologist Nate Quinn and his crew poking, charting, recording, and photographing very big, wet, gray marine mammals - until the extraordinary day when a whale lifts its tail into the air to display a cryptic message spelled out in foot-high letters: Bite Me.

    "Great book, really bad narration!"
    Overall

Yeah, as stated by others, the narrator is really bad; by far the worst I've heard reading one of Moore's books. The voices are decent, but this guy seems the easily confused type. Still, it's not fatal, and the text makes up for the narration. A worthy listen!

  • Doctor Who: The Stone Rose

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 22 mins)

    • Narrated By David Tennant

Mickey is startled to find a statue of Rose in a museum; a statue that is 2,000 years old. The Doctor realises that this means the TARDIS will shortly take them to Ancient Rome, but when it does, he and Rose soon have more on their minds than sculpture.

Vincent says: "Be Careful What You Wish For"
"A Must for Doctor Who Fans!"
    Overall

I've read several of the Doctor Who books and was happy to find them here. The Stone Rose is, in itself, one of the better stories I have found, and David Tennant's narration is perfect! Not only is it so engaging to have the actual voice of The Doctor, he does every voice wonderfully, with wonderful impressions of known characters and just as good a job done on bit parts. This is a great download, just as good as (and in some cases better than) an episode!
