definitely in the top half!
Yes, it is incredibly funny and very informative. One of the most enjoyable non-fition books I've ever read. Better than a lot of fiction too
She wasn't quiet funny enough. She sort of skimmed over things that needed more attention, or a pause for the laughter.
You could it's light and entertaining
For me it was the predictability of the story and the appallingly forced romance. To me there is nothing worse than a fake romance.
Sure, her voice neither detracted nor enhanced the story
Flipped; Runaway; Confessions of a Serial Kisser; all also by Wendelin Van Draanen in her characteristic charismatic, touching style. They all have Y.A. female leads and tell stories of self discovery.
it was a good book with a touching ending, but I was distracted by the narrator. She kept going up at the end of her sentences? Like everything was a question? And? I just don't think? that because the person telling the story? was a teenage girl? That she needed to keep doing that? It made me dizzy. Still, all in all an inspiring story :)
I would change the narrator. This was one of my favorite series as a kid and I never got around to finishing it. But I will have to get them somewhere else because I was distracted from an otherwise very funny book by the voice of one of the main characters, Sam, who is a boy and this reader decided that meant the voice of a very, very winy little girl.
change the narration
the first one was funny sexy, and fast paced, but they keep going down hill. Less suspense, less romance, less humor. and more unintelligible, made up science
the narration was still as good as the first
Yes, but never another abridged one
not abridged it. I ended up having to read it because being constantly cut off and cut up was so distracting
The Romance, and the main character's spunk. It is definitively not historically accurate to Victorian England, but it's still good fun
fits in very well, funny, exciting and sweet
yes, very well. I think this narrator matches the whole series very well. I was disappointed that she was changed for one of the books
I did have extreme reactions. It made me laugh and cry as a kid and it will always hold a special place in my heart
I love this whole series!
More or less, but Mat Damon narrates the second half highlights from 20th century and I think he does a much better job. I wish he could have narrated this unabridged version
No, it takes a lot of absorbing. I had to put it down and think about it, reread it and then start again.
